Ten CONFIRMED cases of Swine Flu in Delaware

Filed in Delaware by on April 30, 2009

It has not yet been released by state officials, but my source has informed me that there are actually 10 Delaware cases confirmed. This includes the 4 announced today.

To Smitty’s point, it isn’t killing these people, but it is spreading in Delaware.

So do I go to a home poker game in Pike Creek tomorrow, or just sit tight?

  2. a. price says:

duck tape yourself in your house, shoot everyone who comes within 100 feet with a flame thrower, and pour bleach on EVERYTHING.

  3. jason330 says:

Bleach on mashed potatoes…? If you say so.

  4. Unstable Isotope says:

If I get swine flu, it’s my husband’s fault. He works at UD.

  5. In other breaking news…

    22 people have the shits

  6. a. price says:

    it’s obama’s fault.

  7. R Smitty says:

At some point, I think it’s going to hit twelve people, then they are going to realize it wasn’t sick people, but the sick governing of the swine on the New Castle County Council (minus John Tobin’s Mrs, but plus Paul Clark).

Yeah, that’ll make ’em even less likely to record and post meetings. Damned bloggers!

  8. R Smitty says:

DV – make that 23. Shed about five pounds, I did.

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

A., you’re not far off. I just read that some of Obama’s aides actually caught swine flu during their Mexican visit. So, I guess the conspiracy theories are true! Obama brought swine flu to the U.S. so Sebelius would get confirmed.

  10. I don’t get it, what is the attraction with going to Mexico? If i want to see a third world country I’ll just drive to West Virginia.

I might disagree with a number of the positions stated here but I am human. Not a bad idea to buy some tamiflu and have 2 weeks worth of food and water on hand. That’s good advice at any time but ecspecially now.

Also be sure and inform any school age kids that it’s OK to call home to be picked up if they see a fellow classmate hacking phlegm on everyone.

  12. David says:

I am concerned that U of D is letting the people who are dorm students stay spread out instead of concentrating them. It is irresponsible.

  13. R Smitty says:

Buy some tamiflu? It’s a script. Not so easy.

  14. a. price says:

2% mortality rate? 30K US deaths from an average flu year? c’mon people, the media is overreacting. chill out

  15. David says:

On average 5 to 20% of the population gets the flu. That would be over a million people. If the mortality rate were 2% we would have a plague. It was 2% with the 1918 Spanish flu which killed up to 50 million people. I agree that this flu seems to be an over reaction but given the potential it is understandable.

It is also why the U of D can’t let infected people spread it in the dorms. Once again, I call it irresponsible.

  16. a. price says:

so what, quarantine possibly infected people? and unless UD students have changed in the last 3 years… i pretty sure no matter what, they are all screwing each other

As someone from Sussex county, I move that we here in slower lower close off our little island from the outside world. It would be like our own little redneck utipia.
