Turns out the RNC did not have much a choice when they elected Grandmaster Steele. Michigan Liberal points us to this ditty from Saul Anuzis, former Michigan Republican Party chair and opponent to Steel for the RNC chair:
We’ve so overused the word ‘socialism’ that it no longer has the negative connotation it had 20 years ago, or even 10 years ago. Fascism — everybody still thinks that’s a bad thing.
When fascism doesn’t stick as socialism and liberalism didn’t, you might want to try one of these other ism’s: environmentalism, illegalism, radical feminism, ultraliberalism, social liberalism, African socialism, Arab nationalism, Black nationalism, secularism, state atheism, fabianism, evolutionary socialism, African socialism, Arab socialism, communism, revolutionary socialism, eurocommunism, Leninism, Maoism, Marxism, Marxism-Leninism, Marxist feminism, Marxist humanism, neo-marxism, Stalinism, Titoism, and Trotskyism.
But, please stick with your own ism for awhile: Failism.

I wrote a post the other day stating that Republicans have made socialism appealing.
Love them isms!
And, Dorian… that was brilliant!
I’m sure they’re slavering to use “Wahabbism”, “Jihadism”, and “Islamism” – never mind the fact that they’d be essentially accusing us of the kind of religious extremism and bullying that they practice daily. One tenet of Republicanism remains constant – projection.
Flash forward to the Republican National Convention:
