Tuesday’s Open Thread

Filed in Delaware, National by on April 14, 2009

Who could have predicted that the term tea-bagging would find its way into real America?  But, since it has, who are we not to mock?  And, boy, have we been mocking!  Today Cassandra continues her countdown to tea-bagging, while DV solicits questions you’d like to ask tea party participants.  He also infiltrates FaceBook’s tea party page.  I’m still wondering how these protests help Republicans more than hurt them, while DelawareDem spotlights the worms crawling out of the woodwork with teabag in hand.

And it isn’t just DL.  Crooks and Liars and Jack and Jill Politics have written thought provoking posts that expose the underbelly of tea parties and the “news” network that has become one long tea-bagging infomercial.

We’re also rockin’ the local scene.  ‘Bulo is breaking down the Delaware Republican landscape, while Jason looks at 2010’s Statewide races and DelawareDem considers Castle’s options.

As usual, this threads for you.  Make of it what you will!

Let’s have a round of applause for the teabaggers… give them a great big handjob!

  2. Unstable Isotope says:

Conservatives gone wild! Show us your teabags! On second though, don’t bother.

Here’s an interesting article on everyone’s favorite failed VP candidate. This time she nominated an absolute numskull to be Alaska AG.

    Some of his quotes:

Ross said Palin “was provocative and she looked really good didn’t she?”

“If a guy can’t rape his wife…who’s he gonna rape?”

“There wouldn’t be an issue with domestic violence if women would learn to keep their mouths shut.”

    Sounds like a real winner!

From that David Schuster vid I added:

And in Cavuto’s defense, if you are planning simultaneous tea bagging all around the country, you’re going to need a Dick Armey.

    He cracks me up.

  4. Unstable Isotope says:

In the Norm Coleman/Al Franken file, pressure is mounting on Coleman to concede.

Joe Scarborough calls on Coleman to give up.

The NRSC (after almost 24 hours) reiterates support for Coleman. It doesn’t look like the RNC has issued any statement yet.

  5. anonone says:

Sounds like Palin nominated Miscreant for AG.

  6. cassandra_m says:

Oh yes! Al Franken won again!

  7. Bill Dunn says:

” Dick Armey or dick army” LOL

  8. Rebecca says:

That patter by Schuster is hysterical! IAOTFLMAO – or something like that. The Million Man March indeed.

  9. Unstable Isotope says:

This is crazy! Rick Perry of Texas talks about secession from the oppressive hand of government.

  10. Unstable Isotope says:

ROFLMAO at Shuster. He starts out “Conservatives are going nuts…” *snicker*

  11. Geezer says:

UI: Pair the Perry idiocy with that Daily Kos post the other day about the latest sign of the GOP’s regional basis (the one that showed only the South harbored animus towards San Francisco, New York, France and Europe).

So the Party of the Confederacy — as opposed to the Party of Lincoln — is retreating to its original position, to wit: If we lose our influence in Washington, we secede.
