Ok, I know Hube does a dumb letter of the day or week or something so I don’t want to step on the toes of that and be called a thief. But I had to link to this letter to the editor.

I have taken the time to read these over the past few days and the nut-jobs that write in and GET PUBLISHED simply amaze me. This one though takes the cake:

With all of the turmoil in the world, one would think that people would try to work together to resolve our issues. No, that isn’t happening. The self interest paradigm shift is stronger than ever. Democrats and Republicans can’t work together.

I think it is time to start a “People’s Party.” The basis for this party would be to help those millions of us caught in the middle. Decisions would be based on what would be best for the majority.

This letter reminds me of that scene in the horrid “Attack of the Clones” where Anakin says he opposes the current state of a gridlocked Senate of the Republic, and instead prefers a system where the representatives all sit down, discuss and debate a problem or issue, and then come to a decision. LOL. Sounds great, right? Senator Amadilla then asks what if they can’t agree. And Anakin says “Someone should make them agree.”

    Ah. A Dictator.

What’s scary is the Kumbaya tone wrapped around the stupidity.

Same question – who decides what’s “best.” Democracy is messy. We should learn to deal with that.
