Here is my prediction:
Within a year from now Rush Limbaugh is going to have Steele fired as the head of the RNC and will replace him with Joe the Plumber or that 13 year old conservative duffus.
Nemski writes: LOL, Jason, this just came in over the wire. Here’s a clip of the Grand Old Posse imploding.

Steele doesn’t stand a chance against Limbaugh. Oh yeah, I think Steele will want to spend more time with his family very soon.
Comment by nemski on 2 March 2009 at 5:36 pm:
For schizzle.
Comment by Rebuild the Delaware GOP on 2 March 2009 at 5:49 pm:
This time next year both Steele and Limbaugh will be doing well.
What you fail to understand is these gents serve different constituencies and a different process determines their success or failure.
In the end, it is Mr Obama who faces the evaporation of support for himself and his agends. Steele and Limbaugh will prosper, Mr Obama will not.
Comment by cassandra m on 2 March 2009 at 5:52 pm:
And here comes Delusional Mike. Almost on cue.
This is pretty remarkable that Limbaugh is calling out Steele this way. But today is the First Day of Steele Walkback Watch — because you know that he won’t have the cojones OR the support to get the Gasbag to stick to his knitting.
But hey! It’s Off the Hook!
Comment by Unstable Isotope on 2 March 2009 at 5:56 pm:
We’ll have to watch to see if donations to the RNC dry up. They were pretty much the only organization giving money to candidates in the last cycle. I think this is a question of how much power the Limbaugh base has in the party. Pass the popcorn.

The WH was brilliant with this strategy. First, take on an egomaniac. Second, sit back and watch an egomaniac do what he does best.

Get with it Steel just kissed Rush’s ass Five minutes ago as reported on huffington and MSNBC and begged forgiveness. All this proves is that Rush the Doper is the head of your party and that there is not one REPUK with the balls to stand up against him. So why in hell would any sane person trust the security of our country to your party who proves everyday that they are nothing but a bunch of wimps?
Comment by Shoe Throwing Instructor on 2 March 2009 at 7:12 pm:
My favorite Limbaugh theory that he just recently stopped trying to sell his minions is that we have no problems at all economicly, this is a socialist plot to turn our country away from capitilism and towards communism.
That`s getting harder to sell to even morons so he`s readressing it as Obama ultimate stratagy, to turn us into the old soviet union. I say make him the head of the republican party, they deserve it.

Perfect!
Comment by Shoe Throwing Instructor on 2 March 2009 at 8:13 pm:
Rush Limbaugh is not a racist in the strictist sence of the word, he`s the ultimate elitist. He doesn`t care about your race or creed he hates on the basis of your bank account. If you are not wealthy or powerful you are valueless to him. Which is sort of a perfect attribute to be leader of the republican party.
Comment by anonone on 2 March 2009 at 8:15 pm:
I disagree, STI. People that promote songs about “Magic Negroes” are racists. Period.
And that is only one example.
Comment by some republican (actually a. price) on 2 March 2009 at 8:18 pm:
I’LL have all you left wing pinkos know that most americans agree with Rush! he says so! they want this communist to fail and america to fall apart and have it be his fault…… now where are my drugs!

Obama Stimulus Meltdown
I spent most of today contacting mortgage companies to check on the latest rates to refinance if it made sense. Here is the summary of calls to three companies.
# 1 Question Mr Protack: are you experiencing severe financial hardship? answer :no
# 2 Question Mr Protack are you in danger of foreclosure? answer: no
# 3 Question Mr Protack has your credit been damaged by financial pressures? answer : no
I asked what does that have to do with me looking for a better rate based on my income and credit when people with poor credit and late payments are getting government help?
Response by my current mortgage holder, ” the effort by the government is to address “fairness” to the mortgage problems some people have which are not their fault”
I hung up. Nice job Obama.
Comment by pandora on 2 March 2009 at 8:20 pm:
Actually, I think Rush hates people who disagree with him. He’s all about the adoration.
And the GOP is facing a huge Rush problem. How do you get people who lovingly refer to themselves as dittoheads to consider another POV.
Comment by cassandra m on 2 March 2009 at 8:23 pm:
That isn’t even a very good lie, Protack.
But hey — I’ll play. You tell me the name of the mortgage companies you contacted and I’ll call and see what I get.
Comment by jason330 on 2 March 2009 at 8:25 pm:
# 4 Question Mr Protack have bats infested your belfry? answer : yes
Comment by Shoe Throwing Instructor on 2 March 2009 at 8:35 pm:
Mr. Protack; What don`t yuo understand about the current financial crisis? preference must be paid to those on the brink because every foreclosure creates more toxic assets that thanks to derivitives are causing financial havoc world wide. A home foreclosure can reduce the value of pension plans, municiple bonds and many other financial instruments. They have a negitive affect on every ones home value as well as the neighborhood they are located. That`s kind of the elitist attitude I was talking about. You dismiss this as just another government hand-out. You cannot stand back and see the overall benefit to all if these homes are saved.
Comment by Donhusseinsquishviti on 2 March 2009 at 8:44 pm:
so how many people that were in the middle and were republican are they going to lose.
You have to love the fact that this party is directly controlled by the media.
Comment by cassandra_m on 2 March 2009 at 8:54 pm:
The thing is that people who are on the brink can hardly get the attention of their mortgage companies until they get to actual foresclosure.
PLUS — the House doesn’t even take up the vote for the Mortgage Bill until tomorrow. Even if there was any “fairness” bullshit in it, they certainly wouldn’t be imposing it now.
What is it with these people and the lies?
Comment by cassandra_m on 2 March 2009 at 11:58 pm:
Well that didn’t take long. Steele walked back his comments today:
“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in a telephone interview. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”
So now Rahm gets to call out Steele and Rush’s b*tch on every Sunday talking heads program forever.
Comment by David Anderson on 3 March 2009 at 12:39 am:
Good to see Mr. Steele and Mr. Limbaugh back on the same side. It will take all hands to defeat this ill conceived administration.
Comment by Shoe Throwing Instructor on 3 March 2009 at 1:30 am:

Let me get this straight you are against bailing out HOMES but your OK with bailing out Banks and other Fat cats. Spoken like a true wing nut.
Why is it that you and you ilk are against welfare unless it’s to save your precious capitalism.
You are always stating that folks should stand on their own except when it comes to wall street

No, you are not getting it. It is simple kneejerk contrarianism; blind opposition. Remember when Bush took office and systematically began ripping out anything Clinton had sponsored whether it was good or not?
Wingnuts are against all the bailouts simply because it is Obama’s plan. They were against TARP I because Pelosi was pushing it (and by then Bush was dead to them anyway).
Remember, these are people who want Obama to fail. The true economic royalist wingnuts would prefer that the economy crash and burn with no safety net. Because the rich would still be rich, and then they could claw themselves back to power by running against unemployment, starvation, and misery.

I think anon has it right. Republicans don’t really have an ideology anymore except knee-jerk opposition to Obama and Democrats.

For an idea of how accurate MP’s predictions have been, look up his predictions for his own campaigns.
What I’m finding interesting is how wounded a lot of conservatives act when their hero Rush is attacked. Truly pathetic.
Comment by Unstable Isotope on 3 March 2009 at 10:07 am:
All I think Geezer is that Republicans are very sensitive and have their feelings easily hurt.

No, the problem will be if and when the economy worsens to a point where the milquetoast middle get completely frustrated and angry, they will turn to the voice of exclusion and lay blame on those unlike themselves….sound familiar?
Just replace Jews and Gypsies with Socialists, and the rhetoric is strikingly similar to speeches made by Germany’s far-right of the 1920s
The RushBo Right can talk all about the defense of unfettered capitalism as their hallmark, but in reality it’s purely Anglo-American exceptionalism at its worst.
Bait and switch tactics aren’t just for salesmen.
