“What kind of idiots are running that bank?”
Watch the Video
Granddaughter of the man who founded Bank of America in San Francisco in the early 1900s called the bank’s current condition “totally repulsive” and blasted the bank’s management for being “idiots.”
Q: Where do you put your money? Bank of America
A: Bank of America. I have no loyalty to it, it’s just there [...]
Day 27: Mike Castle’s Betrayal of Delaware
Which member of Congress has now gone 23 months without holding a scheduled in advance* town hall style meeting with his constituents?
Hmmm…?
*Note to Mike: Meetings announced on Wednesday afternoon for Thursday night don’t count.

Kowalko, Ramone and Peterson Victorious!
Approximately 100 people showed up at the City Council meeting in Newark to register their displeasure with the proposed disproportional water rate increase for non-resident city water customers. The bottom line of the whole affair is that the city relented in the opening moments of the meeting and made the rate increase a flat 15% [...]

What happened to Article 12 of the Delaware Constitution?
It seems to have been misplaced.
The Goofs and Oddball’s Party
One Republican claims that we are running out of rich people in this country.
Another says that Justice Ginsberg is going to die in 9 months.
Still another says that President Obama is not an American citizen.
These are not empty headed wingnut talk show hosts like Rick Jensen. They are empty-headed Republican elected officials.
There is a [...]
What Have We Become?
I’ve been pondering this question for quite some time, but it took El Somnambulo’s post concerning corrupt judges to drive me to my keyboard. Call it the straw that broke the camel’s back – and this camel is thoroughly disgusted.
Who are we?
I really want to know. I want to know what sort of country barely [...]

CNN reports that two corrupt Luzerne County judges received $2.6 million in kickbacks for sending kids with minor offenses to privately-run boot camps.
One of the two judges shut down the state’s juvenile detention facility in Luzerne County and used the money earmarked for that facility to provide a ‘multimillion dollar lease for the private facility’.

DCCC To Continue To Target Mike Castle
The DCCC says it’s targeting (via automated calls, text messages, and emails) 12 House Republicans who voted against the stimulus, arguing that they opposed middle-class tax cuts.
A sample of one of the automated calls: “Did you know Congressman Michael Castle voted against President Obama’s economic recovery plan, [...]
Is Kicking People Out of the Club Really the Best Way to Rebuild the GOP?
It seems the phrase you’re either with us or against us applies to all things Republican. Actions speak louder than words, and for all Steele’s silly talk about hip hop and bling-bling it’s apparent that the GOP has no intention of widening its base. In fact, it appears they are intent on narrowing it further. [...]

Do you think the rest of the country would know how serious this banking collapse is if instead our Fast Food Industry was the sector of the economy in trouble?
23Feb2009 | Donvictimiti | 8 comments | ContinuedThe News Journal Can’t Be Far Behind.
The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News, and the Journal Register, which is a regional network of suburban Philadelphia papers, like the Chester Daily Local News, the Trentonian, and the Phoenixville Phoenix, have all declared for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
You knew this was going to happen the minute newspapers began posting their [...]
Deep Thought
If we are serious about balanced budgets all we have to do is never ever ever ever elect another Republican President.

From valarltd.livejournal.com
1) Listen to them.
They’ll tell you everything. Just don’t write it off as “humor” or “you know he’s not serious” or “it’s an elaborate hoax.” Just because you don’t believe it, doesn’t mean legions of true believers out there don’t.
Number 2 is “Look at what they accuse liberals of doing.”
Prescient.

…GO BIGTIME!!
That is what Republicans must think. Because they get into an ugly snit if they think some poor bastard might get something from the government that they don’t deserve, but when 19,000 wealthy Americans rip-off the treasury to the tune of $20 billion in unpaid taxes – that doesn’t merit a passing [...]
Legalizing Marijuana More Popular Than Republicans
And, apparently, more popular than than Republican policies, too — Chris Bowers does the work (see Open Left for links to where the polling comes from):
It should also be noted that, at 40-41% (ed. note: Rasmussen and CBS polls respectively) support, legalizing marijuana is more popular than all of the following:

Jindal to Louisiana: Drop Dead
Would-be President Bobby Jindal has rejected $100 million in Federal unemployment assistance to Louisiana. Using classic Rethug logic, he argues that accepting the aid now could lead to an increased tax on business down the road. Of course, this is demonstrably untrue. From the article:
“Today, however, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced his intention to oppose changing [...]
Don’t Even Think About Bailing Out These People
…not only couldn’t they even begin to pay back what they owe their fellow citizens for the BushCo disaster; but are you really going to employ somebody with that kind of failure on their resume? See here:
