I would be willing to bet probably around the same time everyone forgot how to “form a line”.

Someone who is younger than me is in charge now, and that is not a good thing.

    During the Bush years.

It’ s been a few years – and then they became even smaller last year. But ice cream isn’t the only thing. Canned foods have shrunk, foods in plastic bottles now often have a concaved (not sure if that is the right word) bottom – therefore hiding the fact that there is less in them. You can only find cheaper soda bottles with 2 liters in them — many are only 1/5 liters. The cheese that I used to buy came as a half pound, now it’s only 6 ounces. Oh, and don’t forget pet food – those bags shrank by a fe ounces as well.

here is an interesting post about the “shrinking” toilet paper

I saw an article a year or 2 ago about how restaurants were saving money by stocking thinner napkins. Most are impossible to get out of the dispenser without ripping them. That was part of the idea since some customers take about 30 napkins, then use 3 of them. Candy bars are also smaller.

This “downsizing” has been a trend for a long time now.
