Hannity Poll Asks “Which Type of Revolution Appeals?”

Filed in National by on February 26, 2009

Just seen on Countdown.

A Hannity discussion board poster  offers this food for thought:

There’s a lot of talk on this board about armed revolt. I am curious what form of such a revolt the revolutionaries would prefer. I can see a few scenarios:

1. Military Coup – The military deposes the government and declares itself in charge. A junta rules until democracy can be restored, similar to what happened in Pakistan.

2. Armed Rebellion – The fed up civilian population attacks their enemies forcibly. They take to the streets, or wherever they need to go, to ultimately depose the government and install one that follows their own ideals.

3. War for secession – Individual states try to secede and perhaps ultimately must arm to do it.

Dang, and all we have is a lame poll about bacon.

  2. a. price says:

how about a war against Hannity. how bout we stop being liberal peace mongers and take down this ass hole… I’m pretty sure he is already guilty of treason… as is anyone who supports him………..Rhymes….Mike…..
for the record we (liberals) NEVER did this. we always offered our resistance LEGALLY. Not like these Right WIng White Terrorists. HEAR THAT HANNITY? YOU. ARE. A. TERRORIST!

  3. nemski says:

    We’ve got wolverines?! Cool.

  4. cassandra_m says:

How fucked up are these people when they think Pakistan is a model for democracy?

There’s a fair and square election and these people need to shoot folks over it.

And those who would defend this crap, like those who would defend the Tennessee terrorist or Ann Fucking Coulter are collaborationists.

  5. LMAO, one month, and six days… and all of the sudden they’re planning revolution… over the government their president screwed up.

Seriously, who would they put in charge? They got nothin’ right now. Reagan’s corpse? Cheney? Bush? You wanna talk about revolution and assassination attempts, put those two nutjobs back in office. I’ll lead the march on Washington if that happens.

I swear. Let’s not vote out the idiots screwing the system over, let’s dream of pie in the sky military coups. Keep electing the same old sheep, expecting them to change.

Delaware’s no exception. Carper, Castle, patron saint Biden. Sheep, Sheep, and the Shepherd.

  6. kavips says:

They are in such a minority. All the hype is an attempt to trying to find something, anything, to stop the mass exodus from conservatisim, and hopefully pull out of their ratings slump while doing so.

  7. liberalgeek says:

The triumphant return of Kavips! Preparing the off-grid revolution compound?

  8. Unstable Isotope says:

I think kavips is right, that their numbers are tiny. A lot of them are military wannabes (remember the 101st fighting keyboarders). Their language of violence is quite alarming, however.

  9. liberalgeek says:

They are the DelawareDems of the right… 🙂

  10. Truth Teller says:

Let’s declare him an enemy combatant.

  11. DownriverDem says:

Isn’t this illegal to want to take over our government? How come an investigation isn’t being done about this?

Can you imagine what the response would be if we lefties did this during the Bush years?

  12. pandora says:

True, DownriverDem. Just look what we were called when we disagreed over policy. If we had called for these tactics we’d be placed on the “no-fly” list and probably end up with a window view of Guantanamo Bay!

  13. xstryker says:

Republican projection at work. “If we were out of power, we’d wanna start a rebellion! So let’s illegally wiretap anti-war activitsts, surely they are plotting a coup!”

Seriously, why do conservatives hate America?

  14. cassandra_m says:

There may well be real reasons to take over your government — that activity is probably illegal everywhere, but that doesn’t make it not a good choice under the right circumstances.

It just astonishes me in a place where Democracy actually works (messily, but that is a feature) that these people are the first to abandon all of that in favor of shooting folks because the election didn’t turn out the way they wanted. It is a tantrum by people with illusions to bravery. And I’ll remind folks that BushCo put a fair number of antiwar groups under surveillance, without much outcry from these so-called freedom fighters. If this poll appeared on Air America or whatever liberal outlet while Bush was in office, the host would have been fired and it would be the cable news cycle lead for days.

  15. xstryker says:

What they are is the latest iteration of the KKK. And I’m not even talking about racism, here. I’m talking about an armed conservative minority of Americans who wants to use violence to futher their ends. It is inevitable that they will join up with the skinhead movement, since the skinheads have been preparing for this for years. The skinheads have been literally build up their armies, waiting for a moment when conservatives nationwide would support their desire for armed insurrection. Many of Hannity’s fighting keyboarders might be uncomfortable with the overtly racist agenda of the skinheads, but they will likely be willing bedfellows if such an insurrection actually happens.

  16. nancy says:

I gotta be honest., this is a threat to our National Security. I’m not sure why this destabalizing aggression is not addressed. Our country does not need this type of threatening talk right now.
I think it should be taken care of.

  17. Michael says:

Pseudo-liberals who feign outrage over what ONE Hannity fan types on a computer are both hypocrites and Stalinists-in-denial.
When Obama’s connection to Bill Ayers, a documented terrorist, and Bernardine Dohrn (who by the way actually advocated the murder of all white babies back in her hayday), conservatives are told, “You guys are just fear-mongering. Obama has nothing to do with their pasts.” Okay, fine. And when Islamic terrorists who number in the hundreds of thousands (and whose supporters number in the millions) are confronted, we are told by the same “liberals” that we have nothing to fear; that we are racist if we oppose their activities. And yet my good “liberal” neighbors catch one whiff of tongue-in-cheek talk of armed insurrection, they are all too quick to suggest that all conservatives, especially talk show hosts, need to be “taken care of.” Its a very interesting and telling dichotomy between the professed ideals of today’s “liberal” and the fascistic tendencies among their numbers.

  18. Von Cracker says:

Grow a brain, “Michael”. If you’re really a “Michael”, cause I know “Michaels” and you don’t read like a “Michael”.

There’s a major difference between being on a community board along a 60’s hippie gone wrong, and hasn’t really done any harm since, and a bunch of wannbe-toughguys hoping for armed insurrection.

Did Obama have oversight on the Annenberg Board? He certainly didn’t have a relationship with Ayers outside of that, no matter how you wish it so. One thing is for certain though, Hannity has such oversight, and apparently likes what he sees – otherwise he’d shut that shit down ASAP!

In other words: Falsely Equate Much?

BTW – your first sentence is a effing trip! Could you pack anymore Limbaughisms in it! LOL! Do yourself a favor and put down the CPAC thesaurus – It makes you appear to be a fool….rather unserious, methinks.

  19. U C says:

Hannity, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING, RIGHT?????????

no???? then you are sicker then I thought you were.

  20. Proofreader says:

I salute Sarah Palin, that great lover of all things American, who gave the keynote speech at a Alaska Independence Party convention.

And here’s to her husband, Todd, an AIP member for many years.

Sarah, of course, gave up her own membership when she ran for office and perhaps forgot to tell John McFuddled of her allegiance conflict.

  21. a. price says:

    michael, HANNITY. IS. A. TERRORIST!

  22. jason330 says:

And yet my good “liberal” neighbors catch one whiff of tongue-in-cheek talk of armed insurrection,

Hilarious. Tongue-in-cheek talk of armed insurection. Classsic!
