One Last “Dave Burris Is An Asswipe Post”

Here is the thing, Dave says would still vote for Bush and blah blah blah and it is so boring and stupid so there is nothing left to do but start calling him a fat asswipe.

But even that gets boring because he is so proudly wrong about everything and brings nothing but lame america-hating GOP talking points that are so tiring and boring. And after 8 years of being so pissed off at all that smug a-hole Burris stands for I’m thinking, “how am I going to stop cussing with this non-stop around the clock stupidity” so Dave is done here.

Predictably, he posts “I Own Jason Scott…I own him. He will forever be known as my footstool — My comments no longer are accepted at Delaware Liberal.”

Fine. Whatever big guy. But that changes nothing. He has still been wrong about everything for 8 years and simply doesn’t give a fuck – so I really hope his venture fails because Dave Buris is everything that is wrong with the country right now.

And the good part is that I know he will fail becuase he is a asswipe but also a big fat quitter who quit everything he ever tried from being in college to being in business to being a county party chair.

That’s it. Done. Time to more away from Dave’s negativity and on to some positive change for this state and this country.

NCC Stabs Homeowners in the Back

On Tuesday night Mike Matthews was in attendance as county council met.  One of the issues up for debate was the modifications for the workforce housing ordinance.  There were a number of issues that the modifications would address such as removing a traffic study waiver, strengthening the school district notification process, more oversight and a requirement for owner-occupancy.

These are a good start.  However, developers that got in under the wire would be grandfathered.  These will be battled by the SNCCA lawsuit.  If you are a developer that didn’t have your paperwork ready to go when the moratorium was passed, you are in luck.  Everyone else is screwed.

Penrose Hollins decided not to present the modifications for a vote on Tuesday. He said that he didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes, since the legislature has begun legislation that would impact New Castle County development.  Well I call bullshit.  Mr. Hollins doesn’t believe that there is anything wrong with his ordinance in the first place, so he wants Southern New Castle County to be developed just like the rest of the county, as if a developer were given free reign.  And make no mistake, that is exactly what we have here.

This means that the moratorium will be lifted on Monday with no change to the law.  So it is business as usual on February 1st.  And by business as usual, I mean that the developers are back in charge.  Blacktop is the new green.

Supporting the troops Bush Style

WASHINGTON – Suicide rates among active-duty U.S. military personnel are continuing to rise even as the Defense Department dedicates more resources to identifying troubled service members and getting them the help they need.

At least 128 soldiers were confirmed to have killed themselves in 2008, compared with 115 in 2007, 102 in 2006 and 87 in 2005, the Army said Thursday. Last year’s figure is likely to rise even higher, because the Army is investigating at least 15 other deaths as possible suicides.

Army officials calculated the suicide rate at 20.2 per 100,000 soldiers, the highest in its history and higher than the civilian rate for the first time since the Vietnam War.

Comment Rescue: Mine

In response to a comment by JC I said:

Well this is horrible timing because certain dumb asswipes are going to take credit – but I was going to post Friday on giving up cussing.

As you know I went for two years without an obscenity, but I’ve been on a cussing bender since November. I figure I’m up to about average obscenities about now.

Anyway, when I quit cussing it does not mean that I think Republicans stopped being a source of moral and social decay. And it really does not mean that I stopped thinking that Dave Buris is a low life asswipe and a peice of human garbage

So I’m just as angry at unAmerican Republicans who seem determined to wreck America at all costs as I ever was. I’m just going to have to relearn how to heap scorn and ridicule on their stupid asses without cussing.

It should not be that tough because they seem even more adamantly ridiculous and stridently clueless now then they did to me 4 years ago.

Can you imagine…

Can you imagine?

BAY CITY, Mich. — When neighbors went inside Marvin Schur’s house, the windows were frosted over, icicles hung from a faucet, and the 93-year-old World War II veteran lay dead on the bedroom floor in a winter jacket over four layers of clothing.

He froze to death — slowly and painfully, authorities say — days after the electric company installed a power-limiting device because of more than $1,000 in unpaid bills.

I’ll answer my own question. Yes, I can imagine. After a callous answer from Rumsfield some years ago about going to war with the army you got, and seeing the mold in our country’s leading VA Center (Walter Reed) this doesn’t even seem remotely that surprising.

Obama Ready To Make Mike Castle’s Life A Living Hell

Mike Castle sniffed at the carrot now he is going to get the stick:

Pushing back against the unanimous House Republican vote against President Obama’s stimulus plan, the White House plans to release state-by-state job figures “so we can put a number on what folks voted for and against,” an administration aide said.

“It’s clear the Republicans who voted against the stimulus represent constituents who will be stunned to learn their member of Congress voted against [saving or] creating 4 million jobs,” the aide said. (via Kos)

Awesome! This tells me that beating Mike Castle is going to be a top priority for National Dems this year. If Carney runs I think the money will flow in.

Hmmm, I think you call this an FU

When you give a company half of Brandywine Hundred because they promise to bring jobs to the state and surrounding area, shouldn’t you put something in there that says they can’t fire those jobs they say they are going to create, or take back the land, the asphalt, the bridge, the traffic lights, the circles, the runners trail, the cop that presses the traffic light button, the tax breaks etc?

AstraZeneca said today it plans to trim another 6,000 positions in the next four years, bringing the announced total to 15,000 job cuts since the company began a restructuring program in 2007.

this is an awesome nugget too:

AstraZeneca said the expanded restructuring would save $2.5 billion annually when completed, up from $1.4 billion.

How much did they save by moving to Delaware? Seems to me, we need to offset the tax revenue with taking away their tax breaks.

UPDATED: Comment Rescue: Sweet!

I don’t read Dave Burris for the same reason I don’t listen to Rush Limbaugh, however…this comment was rescue worthy”

noman

Jason’s post has caused Castle to go on WDEL to explain and defend his vote – which I believe is unprecedented both for Castle and for Delaware media.

Castle calling WDEL to explain “nobody ordered my vote” is like Larry Craig calling a press conference to announce “I’m not gay.”

UPDATE: Let’s keep the pressure on Castle. Take a second and write a short angry screed to the Del State News’ “Soundoff” There is a 100% chance that it will make you (and me) feel better.

UPDATE 2: Send a Letter to the Editor at the News Journal expressing your displeasure of Mike Castle.
