Different Day…
…same bullshit. Take a look:
If you could mask the time markers here, you’d swear you were listening to CNN this week. It is the same GOP script, with many of the same hacks, saying exactly the same things — and they were spectacularly wrong then. And the new hacks haven’t found anything new to say, either. But here’s the thing — if all of these arguments were wrong 16 years ago, and all of their derivative arguments in support of all of their hackery actually being implemented over the last 8 years were wrong, can I ask WHY the press just keeps letting them wind up and say the same stuff over and over? Is there not a point where they’ll press them for something more than this 16 year old script?

And while you’re at it, Crooks and Liars has the video of Thursday’s Colbert Report Word segment — The Audacity of Nope. Hysterical!

“Bob Novak won that round.”
WTF are these Republicans smoking?

Novak: “That’s why we need tax cuts.”
Sheez…

Novak should have pointed out that the stimulus package was killed in the senate and the economic recovery was already underway before Clinton even took office. The balanced budget occurred because of cuts in growth imposed by the Republican Congress which pledged to balance the budget. Clinton opposed the move and vetoed the budget until he finally caved. Now he wants credit. No.

Don’t forget the biggest surge of growth occurred after GOP tax cuts in the child tax credit, eliminating the marriage penalty, home sale rollover, and in 1997 cap gains cuts.

….and also after the invention of the unicorn.

You seem to forget taxes are not the problem-spending is.
This year you could not collect one cent of personal income tax and you would have as much revenue as we collected from all sources in 2001.
If tax cuts are so bad why did Pres Obama include them? Why yell at the GOP when Obama is the one who proposed them?
If you are so against tax cuts I know the Treasury will take extra money, please mail in what you think they need.
