Are You Kidding Me?

Filed in National by on January 30, 2009

Karen Weldin  Stewart is so in love with a 10 year old picutre of herself that it now graces the top of state’s Insurance Commissions web site www.delawareinsurance.gov. I could almost forgive her for using that picture when she was running for office because there was a kind of branding effect, but C’mon!

Not only that, but the entire top half of the home page is taken up by a picture of Stewart at her swanky Hotel DuPont Gold Ballroom swearing-in party.

I’m sure people who need Delaware’s insurance department help are please that their needs will be looked after by someone with czarists sensibilities.

(btw – Who paid for that party anyway? Do we know yet?)

    Funny that swearing in picture wasn’t there two days ago.

  2. Still haven’t gotten a return phone call regarding the cost. I’m going to try again, I guess. Her year-end campaign finance report was six days late. It was due 1/20/09.

    Of course, anonone can flame me now for revealing such libelous, “false” information.

  3. jason330 says:

    Also – KWS is a Democrat. Just sayin’

  4. By the way, I was told by KWS’ campaign manager, Elliot Jacobson, that the Hotel duPont affair was to be paid by the campaign. I guess we’ll have to wait for next year’s report, because it ain’t on last year’s.

  5. anonone says:

    Mike,

    I never said your report was “false,” though it could be. What I have said, and continue to say, is that the “$10,000” and “300 people” you initially claimed was stuff that you just made up or, as you put it, “blurted out.”

    Maybe the party cost $1 million and had 500 people. Maybe all the insurance companies in Delaware chipped it to host it. Maybe they stuffed $100 bills in her garter as she danced from table to table. Or maybe it was paid for by a rich Uncle. Who knows? You don’t. I don’t.

    My point to you is that you shouldn’t just make stuff up that has no verifiable basis in fact.

    Collect and verify your facts before you do your stories, that’s all I am asking. And don’t publish hate speech.

    Sincerely,

    Your pathetic, anonymous, [insert expletives] coward friend.

    P.S. Good writing on stuffed breasts

  6. A1,

    The $10,000 was conjecture. I’ve admitted that. However, the 300 number was given to me by someone WHO WAS THERE, so that is not conjecture.

    Yes, the breasts were tender and quite delicious.

  7. anonone says:

    Mike,

    Did the person count everybody? See a guest list?

    Jason, you sure that picture is 10 years old? 🙂

    I do hope that you get to the bottom of the story. And I hope that it is as corrupt as you fantasize that it is.

    FIRST STATE FILTH FOR EVA!

  8. PI says:

    It won’t be long before all of the pages on the web site have pictures of KWS. She does love to look at herself…fancies herself as a real looker. She’s a lot like RAM in that respect.

  9. Geezer says:

    It’s easy enough to find out the ballpark cost — ask the Hotel du Pont what it would cost you for a 300-guest party with whatever food options were available. Unless they got nothing more than coffee and cookies, I’m almost certain it wawill be way more than $10,000.

  10. Susan Regis Collins says:

    She’s got herself a rich uncle: McDrunk 😉

  11. anonone says:

    When was she actually sworn in and where was the swearing-in picture actually taken?

    This story says she was sworn in yesterday (January 29th) in Dover:

    http://www.workerscompensation.com/compnewsnetwork/news/3296.html

    Anybody?

  12. arthur says:

    her contribution sheet reads like a list of antagonists in a John Grisham novel

  13. Gabriel says:

    The first person to gather enough evidence to take down this ridiculous fraud so she’ll crash and burn gets a prize. It’ll be easy, so keep at it.

  14. Gabriel says:

    Anonone:

    She was sworn in on Jan. 6th. Your link contains the same bogus alleged qualifications as her campaign literature. No doubt she’ll post that on the her “biographical page” with the “About Karen Stewart” link on the department’s website, too. Remember the only post-secondary “education” this idiot had was attendance at some fashion institute and that with the exception of working for Levinson in the 80’s as a clerk and for the “Fortune 500” company because she stole the job from a friend who brought her into the company and whom she slandered and libeled and got fired, but got fired herself, anyway, as soon as they found out that she’s nearly illiterate.

    At least she no longer mentions “The Weldin Group,” the bogus business of hers of which she claimed to be President and CEO even though it existed only on paper. Her attendance for 20 years at various insurance organizations, including the NAIC, was with that imaginary title because for most of that time she was not employed in insurance.

    She’s been shooting for IC since she saw Levinson’s operation and what he got out of it for himself. Getting involved with the insurance associations was strictly to develop contacts with industry people who would support her candidacy. Because I know KWS and also a number of people who’ve known her as long as I have, I can attest to the fact that by doing this she developed a data base of nearly 6,000 people. Now ask yourself where her loyalties lie.

  15. anonone says:

    Thanks, Gabriel.

    It is interesting how little information has been published about her swearing-in and inaugural party. Do you know if that picture is from her swearing-in in Dover or at her party?

    You’d think somebody would have some pictures of her inauguration party or have kept/swiped a guest list.

  16. Dave Burris knows but won’t say. The new doughnuts just came out and he needs to polish off 4-5 of the creme filled ones first.

    Then he needs to pick up his unemployment check and launch another failed business venture.

  17. Gabriel says:

    Anonone:
    The picture is from her pretentious swearing-in party at the Hotel Dupont on January 6th. It’s the same picture she ordered the department’s IT staff to post on its website so that it takes up the entire upper half. The caption on the site, by the way, is far too sophisticated for KWS to have written it herself. What would incompetents do without paid assistants and mouth pieces?

    I checked the link to her campaign finance report in Mike Matthews’ comment. Looks like the DE Democratic party gave her $35,000 total after she won the primary. But don’t bet that this money went to pay for the Hotel Dupont party.

  18. anonone says:

    Gabriel,

    Yeah, the finance report is interesting – $78,590.53 in expenditures with not a single one in excess of $100!

    It does look like she had enough left over to pay for a big party – but what about her loan repayments?

  19. RSmitty says:

    Aw, how cute. The “delawaregop”-url anony is back…and same day as someone else commenting on the blog! The odds are incredible! WOW!

  20. Gabriel says:

    RSmitty: Don’t blame it on the GOP. It’s just us regular people who know what we’re in for with KWS. If you do your homework you’ll find there are no empty allegations here. A stark contrast to KWS’s self-serving lies.

  21. RSmitty says:

    No, no. Sorry about that. I was commenting on #16. It’s a very typical M.O. of that *ahem* “anony.” Has been since early 2007.

    For the record, I am with you on this…just not as knowledgable on the details.

  22. PI says:

    An attendee of the Hotel inaugural event reports that her speech was one of those rags to riches themes. As a child she had a speech impediment and her parents thought she was mentally challenged (she said retarded) and they wanted to have her committed to a mental hospital. But, she siad “I’m no retard”. Personally, I think her parents were on to something and missed an opportunity…..but….

    I also learned that her chief deputy pick from out west is not her chief deputy but is a paid consultant and still lives and works (in Oklahoma, I think). The firm he works with is heavily involved in insurance affairs. He must get paid something less than 50K since that’s the threshold number for not having to get approval for the expenditure.

    The most amusing thing I learned is that her next door neighbor is now an ‘advisor’ in the office. Question is, did he get hired so she could have a ride to work since she has no car?

    She will self destruct, that’s almost a certainty.

  23. G Rex says:

    Ha! The “About Karen Stewart” link is under construction. Any bets on how many years that will go on? Maybe they’ll just put up a letter “D” which is the only reason anyone voted for her.

  24. Gabriel says:

    I seem to remember certain people before the election saying that KWS was the best candidate, the most experienced we’ve ever had, etc. etc. Brian Shields even withdrew his endorsement of John Brady because Elliott Jacobson shilled for KWS’s lies so successfully that Brian (and obviously a lot of other people) bought it. Now the same people say they’re just amazed that she was elected. What a difference a few short months can make.

    “Rags to riches” indeed. If she’d gone about it the right way, she would have gotten an education first and foremost, but she’s still just a highschool graduate. A dubious distinction for Delaware.

  25. TGIF says:

    Jason, the IC’s office is trying to watch its pennies probably. Why go and spend extra money on a professional photo?

    ~~~~~
    So, does Gabby only comment when KWS is in the Dellie line-up?
  26. PIish says:
    “She does love to look at herself…fancies herself as a real looker. ”
    I would really hate to find out one day that PI is one of Karen’s scorned lovers.
  27. FSP says:
    “Then he needs to pick up his unemployment check and launch another failed business venture.”
    I have never collected an unemployment check in my life and all but one of the businesses I’ve owned are still in operation.
    The only real recent failure I can remember is the failure to receive a lawsuit that I couldn’t wait to defend, you fraud. Go lose something else.
  28. Gabriel says:
    TGIF:
    That’s the photo KWS wanted. Don’t tell me the IC’s office wouldn’t have sprung for a current one.
    I’m not online enough to comment about every issue, but I do have an interest in seeing KWS removed for incompentence and misrepresentation if not worse, which you can bet will happen before long. She’s too lazy, self-centered, and greedy to be circumspect. That is why I post the truth about her and her pursuit of the “riches” via this office that she talked about in her speech. Amazing that no one warned her not to put it quite that way.
    Not a lot of people knew about this motivation and her real background. Most just believed her lies because it was easy or because she’s a Democrat, or didn’t want to publicize it if they did because they had something to gain by her election. Looks like she’s given everyone enough proof since she won the primary to convince them she’s the disastrous choice I warned back in October she would be. She cheated her three opponents out of an office that could rightfully have belonged to any one of them.
  29. anontwo says:
    Here is a handy rule of thumb. If you are an adult and you say “I’m no retard” regardless of the context, you’re a retard.
  30. anonone says:
    Somebody must have video taped this!
  31. liz says:
    Is she still a rogue board member at Peoples Settlement, another McDrunk behind the scenes operation?
  32. PI says:
    PIish…
    Nope. Not. Never happen. ugh!
  33. Gabriel says:
    PI:
    Good point in your comment #22. I’ve personally witnessed KWS’s utter stupidity many times and agree she’s genuinely mentally challenged. Too bad her parents weren’t able to put her away when they had a chance. She’s able to rote memorize and repeat things she’s heard without really understanding them. She has no scruples or conscience whatsoever and has worked around her lack of intelligence by developing street cunning and dishonesty and an ability to get people to do what she wants by using this dubious, smarmy, childish charm that got Mike Matthews roped in when he last interviewed her. Looks like I’ve just described your run-of-the-mill criminal profile. And that’s pretty much what it is.
