What’s the Deal with Blair House?

Filed in National by on January 7, 2009

What is the real story behind Blair House, because what’s emerging is raising pettiness to a new level.  Was the Obama’s request to move in ten days early really denied due to an overnight visit by a former Prime Minister?  And can you imagine what the MSM would be doing with this story if it had been President Clinton denying President Elect Bush’s request?  I shudder at the thought.

Bush is American royalty so whatever he does is ok to the beltway pundits.

Maybe Bush won’t toilet paper the oval office now.

No. They got Howard to set up a visit AFTER the denial to cover thier stupid asses.

And yes…if this was Bush being snubbed like this by CLinton the beltway press would make it grounds for a CLinton impeachment.

I keep waiting for more details – and it all will come out.

When I first heard this story I thought, “Well, booked means booked.” Now… stunningly petty and nasty. And that goes for the insipid Laura as well. Honestly, has there ever been a more useless First Lady? What has she done in the last eight years? What is her legacy?

  5. h. says:

    Bush has a wife?

  6. pandora says:

    My point exactly, h.

    Covered up W’s drinking.

Even if it was booked, wouldn’t it be classy to try to fit the Obamas in because his daughters have to start school. But no, we musn’t inconvenience the Bushes because he’s still president.

I wonder if the Bushies will remove the O’s from the computer keyboards.

Aside from what P posted about today (the additional pettiness), getting back to the original rub, never before has this been an issue (before this incoming administration). While it would have been nice to allow them to come early, it really wasn’t worth getting all bitched up over, as there was no precedence for an early arrival. HOWEVER, the stuff the P provided certainly does add that point of pettiness to it.

I hear the Bush Administration is going to remove all the “O”s from the computer keyboards. 🙂

Er…uh…oh, bearded one, look at UI’s comment (#8).

  12. Unstable Isotope says:

Heh heh. I know what nemski’s thinking BEFORE he even knows.

  13. RSmitty says:

…hmm…reading between the lines…is there actually a connection between you two?

  14. pandora says:

Smitty, when this story first broke – back in December? – I didn’t spare it a thought… or a post. But now it’s looking like another classless act from the Bush family.

  15. RSmitty says:

Don’t get me wrong, P, I wasn’t saying you were making much ado about nothing with this post. I was saying that there certainly may be something to this now. I was getting on the original since it came up in the comments.

Meanwhile, our wingnut friends are having palpitations over the fact that the Obama family is actually staying in a hotel — one that is accustomed to housing visiting dignitaries (making pretend that the Obamas really ought to be staying at a Super 8 out on New York Ave or something).

  17. pandora says:

I got ya, Smitty. Should have been clearer in comment #14. Looks like we’re both on the same page.. like nemski and UI! 😉

  18. Unstable Isotope says:

    Shhh…Smitty don’t tell. I’m actually nemski’s sockpuppet.

Are you in his driveway stealing wireless signals?
