Filed in National by on December 24, 2008

I am no longer calling him President-elect. In the heart and minds of 82% of the American people, he is already our President.

  1. Mike Protack says:

I knew you would not give Pres Bush any credit.

Toussie, convicted of making false statements to the Housing and Urban Development Department and of mail fraud, was among 19 people pardoned Tuesday.
But after learning in news reports that Toussie’s father had donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Republican Party a few months ago, as well as other information, the White House issued an extraordinary statement Wednesday saying the president was reversing his decision on Toussie’s case.
White House press secretary Dana Perino said the decision to revoke the pardon — a step unheard of in recent memory — was “based on information that has subsequently come to light,” including the extent and nature of Toussie’s prior criminal offenses. She also said neither the White House counsel’s office nor the president had been aware of a political contribution by Toussie’s father that “might create an appearance of impropriety.”
“Given that, this was the prudent thing to do,” she said.
The new information came to the White House’s attention from news reports, Perino said.

When the economy doesn’t recover, unemployment goes over 8%, the war in Afghanistan gets worse as NATO walks away and India/Pakistan go at it will you hold Pres Obama accountable or will you always blame someone else?

  2. Rebecca says:

Sorry Mike, it’s always going to be Bush’s fault. All the conditions for the disasters you cite above developed on W’s watch. And all the other crap too! It is going to take a very long time to turn this train wreck around and until then it’s ALL Bush’s fault.

  3. Sharon says:

Yes, because Christmas, after all, is about holding grudges, slinging blame, and making partisan political slams. If you’re going to say Obama is president now, then, by God, every freakin thing happening is his fault. You guys take the blame.

  4. jason330 says:

    You are an idiot Sharon.

  5. kavips says:

To an outside observer it appears that Sharon is incapable of grasping of the concept of accountability, especially when it is for one’s actions. Apparently within her framework, it is possible to assign blame at a whim, and then believe it fully.

The rest of us assign blame to those who actually caused the error.

  6. Dana says:

Not only is Barack Hussein Obama not president yet, he isn’t even the president-elect yet.

On November 4th, the voters elected slates of presidential electors, not the president. On December 15th, they met in their various state capitols, to cast their votes for president and vice president. After the new Congress takes office (January 5, 2009), the President of the Senate will read the totalled results of the electoral college to a joint session of Congress, and at that point, and not before, we will have the 44th president elected.

  7. Sharon says:

    You are an idiot Sharon.

Hey, I haven’t declared that you guys should be rounded up and shot, then had to apologize for that stupidity. You got the corner on that.

  8. nemski says:

Bwah ha ha ha ha . . . Sharon tried to make a funny and then got it wrong anyway. Bwah ha ha ha ha.

  9. liz says:

ROUNDED UP AND SHOT! She is a nut! Where did she grow up in some banana republic?

  10. roger d long says:

I voted for Obama. The idea that a $10 a week increase in my pay will in some way stimulate the economy is simply crazy. Even $20 a week is not going to do much.
I do not believe that this is the best you can do. Come up with something better or you will loose the middle class in your first 100 days !
