  1. Joe M says:

I would agree to this guess. The minner thing was a morbid joke.

  2. jason330 says:

    Certainly the front runner.

I wonder if Mark H would find this suitable?

  3. Joanne Christian says:

Heck why not–he needs a job. And you already hired KWS.

  4. kilroy says:

I think Minner owes it to Carney because it’s her fault he loss the primary!

Appointing Beau may not go over with the rest of America as it might put the Obama / Biden administration in the negative spotlight.

It kind of sucks that Carney was the only Delaware democrat who fell victim to Minner’s screw up! But yet he took a bit too long to step out of her shadow. Won’t be any complaints from me!

  5. Joanne Christian says:

Minner doesn’t “OWE IT” to Carney!!! Would you lose that stinkin’ Delaware thinkin’!!! Minner OWES the CITIZENS of Delaware to send the best!! Geez Kilroy–you’re slippin’ already!!!

  6. jason330 says:

Okay JC. Imagine a world where you could put the very best candiate in that job without concern for politics or personalities.

    Who would you pick?

PS. If you say Mike Castle you will be banned as a troll.

  7. anon says:

Some of us wrote in Karen Peterson for Senate in 2006.

  8. kilroy says:

    Joanne Christian
    “Geez Kilroy–you’re slippin’ already!!!”

So Ms. Know it All ! Why did John Carney loss the primary? As far as I see Carney is the best choice then next in line would be Sokola!

You know, go back and look and any of my comments and you’ll find that though I am off the wall I very seldom take cheap shots at other (humans) leaving comments. I tangled with Big Al and personal insulted him and I apologized to him.

However, I’ve may have an opinion just like you but yet you have to a real asshole! Minner fucked up mismanaging this state and has screwed John Carney and all of us. Carney is the right person for the job.

Let me guess your were born in New Jersey?

  9. kilroy says:

“Appoquinimink School Board President Joanne Christian”

    Is this you Joanne?

  10. kilroy says:

    Kilroy,
    Is this you Joanne?

Sorry not you I can’t see you being assoicated with LDS

  11. George says:

    Karen Peterson, that’s a joke.

  12. I’m for this, however, I think Carney should put down his foot and not accept an appointment with the caveat that he is merely a placeholder and would have to step down once Baby Beau enters the picture.

  13. Truth Teller says:

Why don’t we follow Obama’s leadership and make it a truly Bipartisan. And select Christine O’Donnell the 40 year old virgin. Will someone please get this woman laid.

  14. jason330 says:

If Carney accepted a two year term with the caveat that he would be a placeholder for Beau – I would personally kick him in his vagina.

  15. kilroy says:

Matthew didn’t you see Joanne’s comments about,” stinkin’ Delaware thinkin’!!!” LOL

Beau Biden will be the U.S. AG, LOL!
    Didn’t JFK bring in RFK

I think Carney will make a fine Delaware Secretary of State and I think he would be quite comfortable with that job for the next 8 years.

Joanne, you ok with this plan?

  16. Joanne Christian says:

KILLRoy, I thought you tamer than the above. John Carney lost the primary because people wanted Markell–of course, in my opinion. And in my opinion, Carney did nothing to dispel a Mini-Minner Mini-Series until the 11th hour.
Again, in my opinion, because I have never really seen Carney act independently legislatively, why would I think he would be the best choice for senate? My opinion is a senate seat is not a consolation prize. Maybe an ambassadorship at times, if we were able to do that. Carney has already said he may not be interested because of the commute. If it has to be a D, I think your Sokola suggestion is a fine one, based on competency, in my opinion. But again, senate seats shouldn’t be kewpie dolls you end up with, because the other guy took the stuffed tiger, in my opinion. I guess I hold the position in a little higher regard. In my opinion again, RAM owes the Delaware citizenry first, and Carney second. If the 2 are the same answer then so be it. In my opinion, I suppose I see prerequisites for senate service differently than you. Being insulting to you was never the intent, and especially if it was taking me directly to “asshole”. I thought it would be harder than that. I am sorry I used your name, to make you feel “cheapshot(ed)” {sic}. I do enjoy your posts, rants, and raves. Please keep going, and I won’t use your name again in response. Lastly, John Carney does deserve praise for being loyal to his boss, and the party. He was a very gracious 2nd place winner, and good soldier. Unintended consequences happen. As we all saw last night. It is politics.
    And furthermore…Delaware born…not an opinion..a fact
and…it’s the Appoquinimink School Board VICE-President (July 2008 version) Joanne Christian

  17. Joanne Christian says:

Dear Blogger #16–You are BRILLIANT–in my opinion!!! That is a great spot for John Carney and I would go along with that. Now that’s some real clear thinking, and intelligence in my opinion. Run with it and send it across your blogways! Love it!!

  18. kilroy says:

Well thank you Joann for expanding!

“Being insulting to you was never the intent, and especially if it was taking me directly to “asshole”. I thought it would be harder than that. I am sorry I used your name, to make you feel “cheapshot”

I offer my apology! I just a guy out here who has passion for public education and much of the political bullshit is Dover drive me nuts! In my honest “opinion” Minner’s inability to run this state has screwed us all and yes, I believe in some respects Carney’s downfall was partly due to her. I feel if Beau Biden is to get the nod for nothing but his last name then Carney should be yes compensated.

Delaware politics suck! Minner (D) screws up and the D’s get elected because of public outrage of her male clone George Bush. She is to Delware what Bush is to the national.

I still feel Copeland would have brought more to the table then Denn. But I’ll respect Denn and give him a chance. I think, I ‘llcall in to Matthews this afternoon a stir those emotions.

“I do enjoy your posts, rants, and raves.”

Thank you and it’s all about stirring the pot !

I can tell you this I was around in 1996 ranting about DSTP and those dumb ass diplomas and told Mr. John Tanner the BYU golden boy his plan stunk! He’s making a fortunate off of Delaware taxpayers since he left DOE and went to Harcourt! I will succeed in bringing full financial transparency to public education and get Red Clay out of the charter school business.
Keep an eye on modification of the school board member’s oath of office! It will be changing

I can’t see Beau Biden being appointed because of possible national backlash on Obama /Biden. Sokola my old DSTP warring buddy I do feel is the next best choice!

  19. delawaredem says:

There is no way John Carney is a placeholder. If he is appointed, he runs for reelection in 2010. A placeholder is Harriet Windsor Smith or Carl Danburg or RAM herself.

  20. Graniaclewbay says:

Aren’t you all so full of yourselves? John Carney is an absolute dolt. What exactly are his qualifications to be a US Senator? Um, exercise? Putting a sentence together? Oh, that’s right, he’s organized something..somewhere or other…

  21. nooneimportant says:

What if- JC takes the Senate seat, until he doesn’t want it anymore…and Beau runs against “Fake it till you make it” Mike Castle in two years?

And why aren’t we talking about who is going to be the next Jack Markell? (asking curiously…I know why we talk about Joe’s seat)

    noi

  22. Joanne Christian says:

    BINGO Deldem!!

  23. John Manifold says:

John Carney is clearly the best-fitted from every perspective — policy know-how, political savvy, fund-raising ability, vote-getting ability, local and national credibility. He could raise a few million within 18 months and, more importantly, would discourage Mike Castle from running for the seat.

  24. jason330 says:

Someone is trying to get Joanne Christian to DC?

  25. El Somnambulo says:

El Somnambulo stumbled across this darkhorse, but intriguing, possibility from today’s Washington Post:

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2008/11/plouffe_to_the_senate.html?hpid=topnews

  26. R Smitty says:

That’s interesting, slumbering one, but where is Plouffe’s current, official residence? I’ve been looking, but not able to find the answer to that. Clues that I have found lead me to somewhere around DC, but I am not convinced of that, either.

  27. El Somnambulo says:

Smitty is correct. Plouffe is not in the current Delaware voter database, according to El Somnambulo’s impeccable sources. Whether he can establish residence and be appointed is best left to the legal eagles.

  28. R Smitty says:

Made a good story, tho, and will be a good follow up. These damn teases!!!
