UPDATE: What to Expect From DelawareLiberal This Week

Filed in Delaware by on November 3, 2008

Obviously, this is the biggest week on the calendar for political junkies.  We are here to make sure you get your fix of Delaware politics during the next few days.  So here is a rundown of what we will be doing.

Tomorrow, at least, Jason and I will be filing reports from the field during the day.  I’ll be doing some GOTV work from 10-2 and more reports as the day goes along.  Donsquishy will be out in the field meeting and greeting, so if there is a guy that wants to shake you hand that smells like diapers, say hi to Donviti.

DelawareDem will be reporting from the Democratic victory party from the early evening on.  From 8-9 I’ll be appearing on WHYY TV12’s blogger roundtable, opposite Jeff Mapson from DelawarePolitics.  Immediately after my stint on TV, I’ll be heading over to the victory party.  Hopefully, several more of our contributors will join us at the party later.

EDIT: The more interesting part of Delaware Liberal — Pandora, Cassandra and Nemski — will be here throughout the day, minding the store and making sure you have plenty of threads for observations and news of the day. Both Pandora and Cassandra may have some reports on local goings on in Wilmington and all three can be contacted via email of the Tip Line above to report on items of interest.

I hope to have live streaming video from the victory party posted online as well as interviews with candidates and politicians posted throughout the night.

On Wednesday morning, Jason and I will be appearing in-studio with Maria Evans on DelawareTalkRadio.  RSmitty will be joining us while we discuss how the election has changed the political landscape here and around the country.

On Wednesday afternoon, I’m going to pass out.

  4. RSmitty says:

I’m certain they are not. Unless someone is in my driveway. 😯

What I expect from Delaware Liberal folks is to finally admit that they were wrong in their slander of Hillary for keeping the primary season going after all of them called on her to drop out of the race. It’s now proving that by Hillary staying in got Obama some steel in his spine but most of all allowed him to build his massive machine which will defeat McSame.

  10. cassandra_m says:

What I expect from Truth Teller is to finally admit that he was wrong in 1) insisting that the Dems (and the people on this blog) backed the weaker candidate who would never survive the onslaught of Republican sleaze and 2) insisting that the only path to an Obama win was to name Hillary as his VP.

But we can settle up only after we can claim to have won something tomorrow.

  11. R Smitty says:

What I expect from you all is the acceptance of the truly unbiased opinion of commenter #1. Truth was never so obvious. 😀

  12. Truth Teller says:

    Cassandra

It was you and your Ilk that kept crying that Hillary was hurting him by making him compete in the primary longer than the rest including the Repuk’s. As it now turns out that race strengthened his position and exposed his weakness which allowed him to make corrections and improve his positions.
I know the Hillary haters on this blog find these facts distasteful.

  13. liberalgeek says:

TT, come back tomorrow with that noise. Are you really that hung up on Hillary that you can’t wait on that BS?

  14. pandora says:

I can’t believe that today – of all days – you are focusing on this.

Now… I’m going to go through this one more time, and then hopefully (get it? hopefully. 🙂 ) you can enjoy this important – and historic – day.

Did Hillary make Obama a better candidate. No. Barack is Barack. Very little drama. What Hillary did was vet him before the republicans did – and, yes, that was vital. Hillary left McCain with nothing, and while I was furious about Wright in March, I am glad it happened then.

The main reasons both sides were upset about the long primary had nothing to do with Hillary or Obama, and everything to do with their supporters being so divided. The primary was tough. Both sides became entrenched. And as far as slandering… do you recall some of the things you said about Obama?

But all that is in the past. We are on the brink of victory, and I wish you could let go of what you’re feeling about the past and join in the excitement. Obama is a great candidate, and by saying that I am not attacking Hillary. He is, in the words of Colin Powell, transformational. He has given us an electoral map Dems could only dream of attaining, and Hillary helped him by campaigning for him.

Near the end of the Dem primary, when I was really worried the party would rip in two, a wise man told me that this primary was tame compared to most he’d witnessed. He told me that primary battles were important and that the party would heal by the convention and rally behind the winner. I believed him. I hope I wasn’t wrong.

  15. Truth Teller says:

Once again this bloga proves that unless you are singing along with them you are viewed as a outcast. So much for welcoming other opinions

  16. cassandra_m says:

TT you are welcome to whatever opinions you want, but an alternate history we aren’t going to buy.

  17. liberalgeek says:

Furthermore, let’s have this discussion on Wednesday.

  18. FSP says:

Is TT accusing you fine ladies and gents of being in a bubble?

    Shame on him…

  19. Truth Teller says:

Geek the wife and I voted around the 1st of October and yes straight Dem as always. But the whining and crying on this site during the primary about Hillary staying in the race was vicious and the vile comments were unworthy of some of the folks here. All I was saying along with a lot of Obama supporters is that that contest helped him develop his game plan which turns out to be his winning margin. So at least have the balls to admit that on this subjest that folks here were wrong.

  20. liberalgeek says:

TT- We’ll talk tomorrow. Today, just embrace the moment. Let go of your bitterness. Find your happy place. Go to that happy place with Hillary.
