I’m Shocked, Shocked

to find that they’re playing the Rev. Wright card in here!

Somebody please tell Rick Davis to stop treating all of us like McCain’s likely voters. We’ve never been so dumb as to have ever believed McCain in the first place that Wright was off of the table. But I guess that is why David made this announcement over at Hugh Hewitt’s radio show. And their excuse is clown-show worthy: Since John Lewis thinks we’re racists, we’ll give him actual evidence. That’ll show everybody!

Somebody please explain how this counts as Country First?

The McCain campaign is already bottom-feeding and his campaign manager announces that there just isn’t enough sleaze and they are looking for new depths. I wish that the lament here was just about the epic flailing of the McCain people, but it also includes those who are delighted to just believe the BS.

ps. See the ever awesome John Cole for more.

What I can’t understand about the McCain campaign is that they always telegraph their moves days in advance.

They have consistently told the media that if this race is about issues and the economy they lose, so they have to attack Obama’s character. They told the media days in advance about the Ayers attacks. And now they are telling the media about their planned Wright attack.

The McCain campaign is the most incompetent presidential campaign since maybe George McGovern.

Agree dd. Doesn’t that ruin the surprise, since they tell us what they’re doing. It probably allows the Obama campaign to get their response ready early.

I love John Cole’s contention that McCain’s campaign is run by wingnut bloggers. It certainly seems so!

Perhaps, but he was campaigning against Nixon, who was breaking the law, and using federal employees to win.

With many families losing a considerable amount of their worth over the past few months, I’m sure more than expected will offer an ‘amen’ to “god damn America”.

Leave it to the douchebags to try to paint a black Korean War vet as being un-American. And you thought the South was tough at that time…try being in the military!

Bring it on…. McCain has not yet found the negative ad that doesn’t work against him.

If McCain rolls the Wright tapes, complete with creepy/scary voiceover, it will increase African American turnout (not to mention turnout of the base in general) to the point where several more tight EVs and Congressional races will be flipped Democratic.

I can’t believe I’m actually having trouble getting worked up over this, and if I’m yawning… what is everyone else’s reaction?

    Don’t you know, P!

You must never speak ill or admonish the United States of America.

It’s exactly what the Founders would have wanted.

    pandora,

I think it’s because Wright was played out already. He was way overexposed before during the primary and I just don’t see how he’ll have much of an impact now. Perhaps McCain thinks there are still persuadables that haven’t heard Wright. I think McCain has been hesitant to bring out Wright because he and Palin both have their own pastor problems, which didn’t get nearly as much play. With the TradMed’s love of “balance” perhaps Murthee and Hagee would get some scrutiny.
