Sarah Palin Whips Supporters into Racist, Anti-Press Frenzy

Filed in National by on October 7, 2008

As we’ve discussed here on many occasions, American right-wingers seem eager to discard our messy democratic traditions in favor of clean, simple totalitarianism.

Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric’s questions for her “less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media.” At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, “Sit down, boy.”

Does anyone doubt that a McCain/Palin administration would be openly fascists?

Losing this election to a black guy who they regard as being illegitimately installed by the eastern liberal press establishment might bring us to a very ugly tipping point.

Take a look at just who’s engaging in the facist tactics. Surprisingly (or not) It’s not the guy with an (R) next to his name.

Oh, and how come I never see condemnation of the hate spewed by the left on this site? Hell, you guys support that hate (and spew plenty yourselves) so long as it’s directed at non-liberals.

  2. Unstable Isotope says:

mike w. talks a lot about hate yet never finds any examples of it.

McCain makes me ill. I was stuck in traffic a long time this morning and had to listen to McCain talk about how you just couldn’t trust Obama and his background.

  3. jason330 says:

Always with the “you do it too” defense.

Why does it never occur to you to state: “Republicans would be patriotic and resist attempts to turn this country into a fascist state.”

Why? Because you wouldn’t resist it. You’d welcome it.

  4. Donsquishy says:

I have learned that as long as the anger isn’t directly directed to Obama, it’s ok.

just a few bad apples really.

Funny, how a few bad apples when it comes to things like Welfare, Healthcare, Immigration seem to spoil it when the stick is in the other hand

  5. Von Cracker says:

Glad to see we already got the obligatory “I’m rubber; you’re glue” excuse-making from mike.

    He’s on vigil, 24/7.

  6. Dorian Gray says:

Mike – The difference is that my hate is not based on race or sexual orientation or twisted irrational prejudgments. It is based on the fact that you are a fucking cunt-faced troll.

Damn that felt good. I am now awake and refreshed.

  7. Donsquishy says:

    Mike W.

what is your definition of fascism?

  8. mike w. says:

“I was stuck in traffic a long time this morning and had to listen to McCain talk about how you just couldn’t trust Obama and his background.”

And he’s absolutely right. McCain has his problems, but Obama doesn’t have an ounce of integrity or honesty in his body.

“mike w. talks a lot about hate yet never finds any examples of it.”

You really want to go down that road. I can find plenty examples on this very site. Hell, you morons blame conservative talk radio “hate speech” when some nutjob kills a liberal AND you continually claim said nut is a Republican despite their being NO evidence of such.

Then again, when have you folks stuck to facts or even pretended to be even remotely objective?

  9. Donsquishy says:

oh and a clinical observation is that Mike W likes the attention, b/c he gets none in the real world.

  10. Donsquishy says:

Oh, and how come I never see condemnation of the hate spewed by the left on this site? Hell, you guys support that hate (and spew plenty yourselves) so long as it’s directed at non-liberals.

do you walk into a tire store and start asking why they don’t sell breakfast sandwhiches?

If you want that, then go visit a different site dipshit. Maybe the “LIBERAL” part of our name has you confused

  11. mike w. says:

Dorian – My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology, his political positions and his attitude, despite your lame attempts to attribute it to race. I’m almost as disgusted by Biden and he’s an old white guy.

DV – Once again you are incapable of discussing anything of substance.

  12. RSmitty says:

DV – Once again you are incapable of discussing anything of substance.
DV gets all the substance he needs at diaper time.

  13. anon says:

Palin is running around NC and FL inciting this kind of crap. It may not make the mainstream press, but you can bet every black person in America will have heard about this by the end of the week.

Fine with me, it is only going to blow back on McCain. Maybe Palin can drag down Liddy Dole while she is at it.

  14. Dorian Gray says:

Mike -Are you being daft or are you simply retarded? Unlike you I was commenting on the post. Those campaign comments are meant to stir up racial prejudices. Hence my response mentions race. I hate your guts and admit so categorically, but I don’t know that you’re a racist necessarily.

By the way, Obama doesn’t have an ounce of integrity in his entire body? Really? I don’t support McCain because of his political positions but even I wouldn’t make that inane remark about him. You don’t even know the man.

  15. mike w. says:

“Those campaign comments are meant to stir up racial prejudices.”

But it’s perfectly OK when Obama makes statements meant to stir up racial prejudice. Typical. It’s only an outrage if the Republicans do it.

And Dorian – I don’t hate you. I pity you and think you’re an utter moron.

  16. pandora says:

Name those comments, Mike. Right now. Name those statements that Obama has made to “stir up” racial prejudice.

  17. Donsquishy says:

    Mike definition of Fascism?

you act like you know what it means. so let’s have a definition.

    Rsmitty…
    so trueeee. so truee

  18. Donsquishy says:

what is obama’s ideology that you oppose mike?

you never told me what Palin’s ideology is either. at least I don’t beleive you did last night.

  19. Donsquishy says:

    I second pandora.

    mike,

But it’s perfectly OK when Obama makes statements meant to stir up racial prejudice.

    link please?

  20. mike w. says:

hmmm, I seem to remember Obama saying that McCain was going to try and make voters afraid of him because he “doesn’t look like all the other guys on U.S. currency.

  21. anonone says:

    Pandora,

Have the trolls destroyed DL? Has there ever been a thread where liberals can discuss issues without being interrupted by right wing ditto heads and racists? Who is DL meant to serve? Is it to be a platform for the racists of the world like Mike W. who have their own blogs but are always over here polluting this one?

It has been said that “a liberal is somebody that won’t take their own side in an argument”. My question for the “owners” of DL is when is enough enough? McCain and the repubs are calling Obama anti-American, a terrorist by association, and some are threatening his life. Is it the policy of DL to be an echo chamber for these guys? Are you ever going to say “enough”?

And you trolls: Somebody else is paying the bills for this site so save your free speech crap for your op-ed in the News Journal or your phone call to Rush or Sean. Of course, they’ll put you on.

  22. Donsquishy says:

so knew you were going there.

how did that stir up racial prejudice? it pointed it out maybe…but didn’t stir it up dipshit

  23. anonone says:

    Mike the Racist:

You are so sickening and full of lies. McRacist had a TV ad with Obama replacing Washington on a dollar bill.

    Go away, you racist pig.

  24. Donsquishy says:

    fascism mike? what’s your definition?

And a follow up that you still haven’t answered? what is obama’s ideology? What is Palin’s?

come on buddy. You like to ask questions…now is time to actually answer some.

  25. pandora says:

Mike’s got nothing. Obama points out that he’s black. Palin points out she’s a woman. McCain jokes about his age. Those are the relevant comparisons to your link.

Still waiting for the Obama quote that “stirred up” racial prejudices.

Anonone, you have a point. Unfortunately I think we’re stuck with the trolls until election day. The frequency of their posts and ridiculousness of their arguments merely displays their utter desperation.

  26. Donsquishy says:

    Please to our fellow readers.

do not engage Mike w until he answers my questions. That is how this game is going to go today.

Mike answers questions from me. and you all ignore him.

    Ok?

  27. cassandra m says:

If a Rush Limbaugh ad is supposed to be racist, then we’ve found (yet another) thing that mike w doesn’t know jack shit about.

This was much better when you were deleting his off topic posts.

  28. Donsquishy says:

    Mike,

I don’t have time to write out a fucking essay here for you DV, especially since you’ll ignore it.

I have plenty of posts on my blog discussing Obama and discussing Liberal ideology. I’ve also got at least one or two discussing facism. I suggest you do some reading and try to actually comprehend for a change.

we don’t read your blog buddy.

You said you disagree with Obama’s ideology. What is his ideology?

you mentioned fascism. I want to know what your definition of fascism is?

You said you like Palin’s ideology. I want to know what her idoelogy is? Besides Gun rights and the earth being 6000 years old. Which we found out you don’t agree with, so you don’t really agree with her ideology. You have your ideology and if she happens to agree with one aspect of your ideology, then you like her.

    So, let’s start with Fascism

    then move onto Obama’s ideology.

or we start to delete your comments today…

i have all day my man. ALL DAY

  29. anonone says:

    Hi Pandora,

“Unfortunately I think we’re stuck with the trolls until election day.”

    Respectfully, why?

Make ’em work for it. Ban IP addresses. Have a “don’t feed the trolls” policy that DL can use to remind each other not to respond to the Mike W’s and redfools of the world. Take down that racist crap is being spewed about against Obama.

  30. anon says:

Please, let’s have more racist crap from Palin events! Keep it coming until the Southern Strategy is on the ash heap of history.

From a Daily Kos report on early voting in Georgia:

In a county that is 55% African American, at least 95% of voters participating in the early voting program yesterday were African American! …. According the Atlanta Journal Constitution in this article here, the Georgia Secretary of State is estimating a very disproportionately high 39% of early voters are African Americans.

  31. Donsquishy says:

Going to answer any of the ones you continually leave unanswered.

No. Which means I answered your question.

I don’t believe I ever saw a coherent or serious response in the Markell thread about combatting violence in Wilmington.

b/c I’m not engaging in a stupid gun arguement with you. 2. I will engage you on my terms from now on. C. I plan on making you spell out your position before you attack my readers.

  32. Donsquishy says:

    fascism?

obama’s Ideology which you disagree with?

  33. pandora says:

Anonone, I don’t like banning which unfortunately puts us in this situation. On a positive note, anon has a point. Let them keep talking. Their nasty attacks are firing up Obama’s base way more than their own. Looking like a landslide.

  34. Linoge says:

Once again, the standard liberal problem of “personal accountability” rears its ugly little head. Blame anyone except the perpetrator. But especially blame a Republican if you have the chance.

The fact is, even if Palin had told her supporters to do what they did, she would not be responsible nor accountable for their actions – those people in the crowds acted autonomously and of their own decisions. Granted, if Palin actually told her supporters to do what they did, you would have a pretty sizeable case against her, for making a proclamaition like that.

However, she did not. And you have no case. Palin blaming Couric for the way the interview went was a stupid move, I will grant that. I will also grant that interviewers are always very careful with how they construct their questions and the interview as a whole – especially when they have an ulterior motive. However, nowhere did Palin suggest an action against the press in the crowd, nowhere did she support racist remarks, and nowhere does she share responsibility for those events.

Nice broad paintbrush you are trying to use there, but you are sadly out of paint.

On the flip side, some of the actions some people are proposing to do with this site are shying just a teensy, weensy bit [/sarcasm] towards “totalitarianism” as well… sounds like a problem common to both ends of the political spectrum.

  35. Von Cracker says:

    Does anyone recognize the format?

“____________ doesn’t offer anything of substance. _________ hasn’t addressed my concerns (though in reality it’s been asked and answered many times in previous comments). I am not to blame; it’s all ___________ fault!!! You call me names, blah, blah, blah.”

    I call it a ‘Miku’.

  36. cassandra m says:

Stuff it Cassandra – We know how much you love your echo chamber.

You are still an Idiot, mike w — one that thinks that a bunch of wingnut radio talking points actually passes for real conversation. It doesn’t. Wingnut talking points are pretty singularly lies, and the fact that you credulously accept every bit of it doesn’t mean that you and your talking points won’t be getting a major beatdown every time you try this shit.

What is simply incredible to me is that for as long as you’ve been here, you haven’t learned how to even get some basic respect around here. And that isn’t so hard to do — you don’t have to agree with any of us, but you do have to be here without your idiotic talking point armor. Can you be so starving for attention that handing out with a group of people who don’t respect you or have any regard for you whatsoever is better than the alternative? Get out of your parent’s basement, kid and get your mind around the rest of the world. Otherwise know that no one really gives a damn about your silly “you do it too” ripostes that reveal on a daily basis how completely unprepared you are for this conversation.

Get on topic, stop with the lame ass “you do it too” (especially the unsupported shit), read some books for crying out loud or STFU. You will know that you have earned some basic respect when you can be in a conversation (disagreeing with any of us) without getting your posts deleted.

    You are On Notice.

  37. Donsquishy says:

    wooohoooo

is that like double secret probation Cass?

    if so, I like it!

    (name the movie)

  38. Von Cracker says:

keep your ugly head from my rears!

  39. pandora says:

Animal House! What do I win?

  40. Donsquishy says:

    another trip to $5 Below!

  41. Von Cracker says:

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through like, son.

  42. Donsquishy says:

    fascism?

    Obama’s ideology?

  43. Donsquishy says:

here is a little help for you sweetie

Take a look at just who’s engaging in the facist tactics.

please elaborate, also adding your definition of fascism and now add what a tactic is…

  44. Donsquishy says:

    vc

    nice…

    zero point zero

  45. anonone says:

    Linoge:

People yelling “fire” in crowded theatres are accountable for the crowd’s reaction.

If this isn’t just short of incendiary, I don’t know what is:

“Our opponent … is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

Obama – by association. he would target his own country – sweet.

She also said, “This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America.”

We know the code: “you” and “I” equals “patriotic” and white, Obama equals anti-American and black.

  46. Donsquishy says:

    mike,

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology,

    which is what?

    his political positions

    which is what?

    and his attitude,

    which is what?

  47. Donsquishy says:

hmmm. OK. I’d say threatening to pull the FCC licenses of broadcasters who air NRA ads that you don’t like qualifies as facist tactics.

    definition of Fascism please?

and we have already discussed how you are wrong on this one. You can’t go all Sarah Palin on us and keep using the same lie over and over to convince yourself it is true

  48. Von Cracker says:

So blowback against false accusations is tantamount to fascism.

Ok, the irony is tickling my taint now…

  49. anonone says:

    Pandora,

“I don’t like banning which unfortunately puts us in this situation.”

Try it, you might like it!

“Let Mikey try it. He hates everything”

    🙂

  50. Donsquishy says:

then, if you want people to read your blog to find your answers and opinions stop coming over here and making empty accusations you don’t feel like backing up.

this isn’t how it works BOY. We don’t go read your blog to find out about your position. You state your position here. You back up your ad hominem attacks with facts and you will explain your words/sentences so that we know that you know what you are talking about.

which at this point I think we all have proven you don’t know what you are talkingabout.

Because if you did, you wouldn’t be spewing this crap day in day out, over and over after dozens of people have back handed away your petty empty opinion laced arguements that have no facts behind them.

  51. Donsquishy says:

    fascism?

    Obama’s ideology?

    and the other questions.

you are going to be very busy today little fella.

facism must be a simple concept, b/c you seem to know all about it. It shouldn’t be that hard for you to describe to simple folk like us.

c’mon, give us a real humdinger

  52. Donsquishy says:

start at the bottom and work your way up. I don’t even care the order little guy

    mike,

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology,

    which is what?

    his political positions

    which is what?

    and his attitude,

    which is what?

  53. Von Cracker says:

I’z dunno. I’z repeeted wordz herd on da raydeo.

  54. mike w. says:

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology, attitude, disrespect for my rights, dismissal of capitalism and flawed understanding of the constitution. The man is supposedly a Con Law Professor and he can’t even understand that the Constitution doesn’t “grant” or “create” rights.

The man wants the biggest expansion of the Fed since FDR. Hows that for ideology?

    Windfall Profit Taxes

  55. Donsquishy says:

    nope, no cutting in pasting…
    answer the questions little fella.

  56. pandora says:

Did you read his link, DV? I might have to post it. Basically he says that Obama is a fascist because he’s popular. I’m not kidding. That’s it. (Even the article he links to says the same thing.) What an idiot.

  57. Donsquishy says:

    well mike…
you have proven you are an idiot

now you still have several steps to go.

    1. we aren’t reading your blog so you need to answer the question.

you still need to define fascism.

and you need to show us why, what obama wants to do is wrong.

then tell us how Mccan Palin will do better.

  58. Donsquishy says:

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology

attitude, ahhh, he has a bad attitude? please elaborate…

disrespect for my rights, besides your idiotic gun rights arguement how else?

dismissal of capitalism How? and how has it worked so well up to this point that leads you to believe what he will do wont work?

and flawed understanding of the constitution.

Where is the flaw? other than the your right to own a gun which hardly has anything to do with real issues facing this economy and 99% of citizens.

the constitution doesn’t “grant” or “create” rights. how so? and why aren’t you teaching Con law?

  59. cassandra_m says:

The funny thing is that mike w is guilty of exactly the same (inane) charges he lays at Obama’s doorstep.

  60. anon says:

he can’t even understand that the Constitution doesn’t “grant” or “create” rights.

Link please, showing Obama does not understand this.

Anyway, Palin thinks they are “privileges,” why doesn’t that scare you more?

  61. Donsquishy says:

    anon tsk tsk….

  62. anon says:

I’ll admit it is buried in a Palin word salad, but it was all over the blogs; how did you freaking miss this, what with you being so concerned about the Constitution and all?

Here, it is from a source you will recognize:

As we send our young men and women overseas in a war zone to fight for democracy and freedoms, including freedom of the press, you’ve really got to have a mutually beneficial relationship here. With fighting for the freedom of the press and then the press, though, not taking advantage of that and exploiting a situation that perhaps that they would want to capture and abuse the privilege.

See, freedom of the press is a “privilege,” but guns are a “right.”

  63. anon says:

    tsk tsk

Oh, I get it… I’ll drop off, and maybe you can add my questions to the list Mike must answer.

  64. Von Cracker says:

Poor thing. She’s completely out of her element.

But fuck her for not recognizing it and turning down the VP offer.

  65. pandora says:

    Nice link, anon.

  66. mike w. says:

Hmm, but is any of what she said there backed up with ACTIONS……like say, threatening media outlets in an attempt to quiet political dissent.

Obama’s actions, and certainly McCains as well show an utter disrespect for the 1st Amendment.

  67. Donsquishy says:

Hmm, but is any of what she said there backed up with ACTIONS……like say, threatening media outlets in an attempt to quiet political dissent.

do you really just say things and think that the other party isn’t guilty of them.

christ mccain has banned talking to CNN. He also doesn’t talk to the NY times.

what is the matter with you mike? or do you not know that they have.

  68. Donsquishy says:

You still have several questions left to answer.

    Fascism mike…your definition

  69. mike w. says:

Don – McCain refusing to go on CNN, while stupid, is NOT the same as actually threatening FCC license revocation of broadcasters.

One is a fascist attack on free speech to crush political dissent you don’t want out, the other is a candidates’ politically stupid choice not to appear on a certain network.

  70. Donsquishy says:

ok. christ beat a dead horse to death. now move the fuck on. you use the same freaking examples over and over and over again mike. When people respond back at you telling you why it is wrong, you are wrong. yet again and again you bring it up.

you don’t know when to shut up.

So has bush been a fascist then based on your definition of it?

  71. Geezer says:

“The man is supposedly a Con Law Professor and he can’t even understand that the Constitution doesn’t “grant” or “create” rights.”

Could you explain this one for me? You really think that the University of Chicago — a rather conservative place — would hire an unqualified guy to teach a Con law class (and remember, unlike Biden, he got the job before entering politics)?

  72. Geezer says:

While you’re at it, you might want to study fascism. Totalitarianism is the word you’re looking for, not fascism.

  73. Donsquishy says:

thanks geezer, i’m sort of working towards that. you may not have read my don’t feed the trolls post.

today. I am taking mike by the hand and teaching him to be a respectable commenter as well as how he needs to actually explain himself before he jumps all over peoples comments, attacks them and then offers nothing in turn.

he still has a long way to go.

  74. pandora says:

“Hmm, but is any of what she said there backed up with ACTIONS……like say, threatening media outlets in an attempt to quiet political dissent.”

So now words aren’t sufficient? This is what drives people crazy, Mike. You asked for a link to prove a statement. You get the link, then excuse the behavior.

And, if there was an action to back up the words you’d then justify the behavior by saying she only did said action once so there’s no pattern. This is maddening.

Sorry, DV, but this is classic Mike W. behavior and what, I’d guess, frustrates most readers.

  75. Donsquishy says:

I feel like we are at the kitchen table and dad has said all he can say, and is now looking at wife/mom to explain it in a different way.

    no problem…

  76. Donsquishy says:

One, no one cares about the NRA so go argue in your own echo chamber. We have had dozens of conversations on it.

2, this isn’t about me…this is about you. You need to learn how to comment mike. We are going to teach you how to comment.

You are’t going to ask tons of questions, get answers then as pandora said excuse the answer you got and continue on with the same repetitive answer again and again.

we are going to expose you for the dumb ass you are. then when we are done with you, we will make a nice little troll out of you.

  77. Pudding says:

“I feel like we are at the kitchen table and dad has said all he can say, and is now looking at wife/mom to explain it in a different way.”

    Considering your track record there…..

  78. Von Cracker says:

Obama’s Responses and Beliefs on Guns, NRA, and the 2A

Also links are provided to independent sources.

  79. Donsquishy says:

    So,

you are not allowed to comment for the next half hour while I try to review if you have answered my questions sufficiently.

You still can’t seem to hold back and not engage in every single comment made which is a big problem with you.

So far we have tried to meter that by keeping you on track. That is how you attack people. You bounce all over the place, put their comments in quotes and then make some bizarre ad-hominem that isn’t event remotely close to what the post or commenter was talking about.

Now, if you break this 1/2 hour time out while I review, then it goes to an hour starting from the last comment you made.

You have 10 minutes to respond. “I understand” starting now:

  80. Donsquishy says:

    Ok, so.

I asked you your definition of fascism:

    this was your reply:

One is a fascist attack on free speech to crush political dissent you don’t want out, the other is a candidates’ politically stupid choice not to appear on a certain network.

Now, you don’t seem to know what Fascism is. So your next assignment is to go get the dictionary and give me the definition of Fascism and Totalitarianism. Give me the defintion of both and an example of how either party has done it.

Do not reply to any other post yet please.

we still have a few more questions to answer yet.

  81. Donsquishy says:

you don’t seem to get how this works. this is going to be a long day for you.

  82. Donsquishy says:

I need to know what a tactic is. You still haven’t answered that one

  83. mike w. says:

Actually I do. It’s characterized by dictatorial rule and intense nationalism, which takes precedent at all times over the individual (and over individual rights.)

My discussion of Obama and Facism centered on he (and his followers) sharing many of the traits we see so often in Fascist, authoritarian leaders, and similarities in how they became popular.

  84. Donsquishy says:

    man,

you really aren’t good at answering questions. You like to ask them though.

    so here. Answer these please.

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology,

    which is what?

    his political positions

    which is what?

    and his attitude,

    which is what?

  85. Donsquishy says:

My contempt towards Obama is based on his ideology, attitude, disrespect for my rights, dismissal of capitalism and flawed understanding of the constitution. The man is supposedly a Con Law Professor and he can’t even understand that the Constitution doesn’t “grant” or “create” rights.

The man wants the biggest expansion of the Fed since FDR. Hows that for ideology?

    Windfall Profit Taxes

this doesn’t qualify as an answer little fella.

you see you didn’t do anything but recite talking points.

Now, where is the substance? Where is the proof?

The man wants the biggest expansion of the Fed since FDR. Hows that for ideology?

    proof please?

you see in your answer mike all you do is say that he is wrong b/c you say so. You don’t add anything to back up your point of view.

have you ever written a college paper? a term paper? Think of your comments like a sandwhich. First the opening, (the first piece of bread) then there is the supporting analysis (the meat) which would be facts or some coherent reply that doesn’t attack the commentr you are engaging, then there is the closing arguement (the 2nd piece of bread)

ok. You have a half hour to get back to me with all these answers.

Go get em tiger. Try not to cut your tongue licking the envelopes at work while you do this either little guy.

  86. Donsquishy says:

picture big X coming across your screen.

We don’t care about gun rights. We have already talked about those adnausiem. plus you didn’t provide a link as proof.

next…move onto something relevant to us mike.

  87. cassandra_m says:

It’s characterized by dictatorial rule and intense nationalism, which takes precedent at all times over the individual (and over individual rights.)

DV, this answer is WAY less than adequate, especially in the way he wants to use the word.

No grading on a curve up in here. You don’t want to get me started.

  88. Donsquishy says:

you can’t follow directions little guy:

Actually I do. It’s characterized by dictatorial rule and intense nationalism, which takes precedent at all times over the individual (and over individual rights.)

My discussion of Obama and Facism centered on he (and his followers) sharing many of the traits we see so often in Fascist, authoritarian leaders, and similarities in how they became popular.

I asked for the defintion of both and an example of each one.

    please do this mike.

    Fascism= (then insert definition)

example= Obama did this (link) then explain how it is fascist

    Totalitarianism= (insert definition)

then insert an example of it

feel free to use my shell if it helps

  89. Donsquishy says:

    cas,

I totally agree. thanks for the catch. No curve here.

  90. Donsquishy says:

see you don’t need to do this.

you could just submit and be a good boy, but you have to get your shots in. Which in the end is your biggest problem.

How does your girlfriend stand you?

(I know I know Pandora but I had to ask anyway)

  91. Geezer says:

Yeah, I thought as much. Your right-wing education has served you poorly yet again. Try this definition, and see if it really reminds you of Obama:

“A form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion.”
    – Robert O. Paxton, The Anatomy of Fascism

  92. pandora says:

Seriously? Obama compared to Hitler because… people like Obama too? Well, people loved, loved, loved Reagan. Guess he’s Hitleresque as well. You’ve learned nothing today.

  93. cassandra_m says:

You certainly were saying that Obama was facist which was why you were made to stand and deliver on some rational definition.

Which you still have not done. All you have done is to offer a completely odious comparison of Obama to Hitler. If you want to play that way, you can do a decent comparison of Reagan to Mussolini. It won’t be any more correct, but what you just did is the Idiot’s Way Out.

Face it kiddo. When you are hurling around phases like fascism you have no bloody idea what you are speaking of. None. You want to do the same bullshit guilt by association that McCain and his pal are doing and you have the nerve to make pretend that you are making an informed comment. You have latched onto a scary word because someone told you it was scary and you are using that (at the behest of the folks who tell you this shit on the radio) to continue to spout off in the most uneducated manner there is.

    What a fool.

  94. Steve Newton says:

    mike,
Unfortunately, I suggest that you need to do a lot more reading on Hitler than you seem to have done, particularly on the deep cultural and social differences between the US and Germany, which in our case led to the New Deal rather than National Socialism.

Hitler was not an outsider; he had been in radical state-overthrow type politics since the early 1920s; he worked in a society in which the Army was a major political player and a major conservative-reactionary force; he existed in a society with deep anti-semitic roots and which had in fact fought an unlabeled civil war (the Freikorps period) after the Great War; he existed in a State that had sold itself a common narrative of victimization at the hands of the rest of Europe.

The superficial similarities in terms of large crowds and propaganda between Hitler and Obama are profoundly instrumental (consequent of a media campaign) rather than any sort of conscious imitation of the fuhrer-prinzip.

As much of an intellectual elitist as it makes me seem, I grow increasingly tired of people making points about Hitler’s appeal or FDR’s economic policies whose sole source of information is superficial web pages rather than some serious academic scholarship.

  95. Donsquishy says:

how hard was it? is it? for you to follow directions?

seriously? you compared obama to hitler? To hitler Mike? HITLER? wow man, you are so sad. I can tell we may be resorting to banning you.

we need a definition from you. for both words.

Now, what you just gave me was your opinion, which as we all now know is really really, really strange.

sooooo bye bye to that little comment

one hour time out for you starting now

and go back to answering my questions

    definitions mike…

  96. Donsquishy says:

    idealistic promises? wow.

raise taxes on the rich, better health care, more money for college, green power…

    yep, he’s just like hitler

  97. Donsquishy says:

    cas,

Face it kiddo. When you are hurling around phases like fascism you have no bloody idea what you are speaking of. None

which is exactly why I have asked him to go get a dictionary and give me the def’s I know where you work that there has to be a dictionary. they even have one online mike.

maybe when you read the definitions you will see the error of your ways…

(lol, I crack me up with that last one)

  98. pandora says:

He’s hopeless. Unfortunately, I think he’s lived his entire life this way. Bet he has a list of former friends/classmates/co-workers who were just plain wrong and too stupid to hold up their end of the argument. It’s sad really.

  99. Von Cracker says:

Oh gawd, the Obama as Hitler argument? What a crock. First of all, authoritarianism does not play well with the Liberal base….oil and water. Secondly, Hitler’s rise to power was the ultimate bait-and-switch. If you read his early speeches, his policies were interwoven with christian messages…Aryans as god’s true children, etc.

If you want to look at an appropriate analogy to label a group as Hitler-esque, you need to look no further than the rabid, Palin base of the GOP: Fundies who think patriotism is an exclusive club – membership only to people who are just like them or who are willing to stand aside for the betterment of the movement.

I think these circumstances beat the “Hitler was a vegetarian, and vegetarians are overwhelmingly liberal, ergo Hitler was a liberal” argument (as brilliantly argued by that social retard – J. “Mommy got me this gig” Goldberg).

That’s even better than the “Nazi has socialism in it and liberals want socialism….therefore Liberals are Nazis!” pretzel logic. If that were the case, then North Korea is truly democratic, you know….since the word is in its name (PDK)….or even the DDR (East Germany)

  100. Von Cracker says:

    Oh and i forgot:

You are sofa king wetarded it’s funny!

  101. shortstuff says:

I think it’s sad that when we discuss the fact that future and possible leaders of government are stirring up emotions of the nature that Palin and McCain are doing that there are people willing to brush it aside and mark it as an attempt of the liberal press to stomp out the conservative voice. A blatant attack by a woman whom by her own words is going by “what the NY times said”… is a false charge as written by the same NY times article is downright criminal to me.

Moving to this country in 1992 and having to face the daily barrage of racial insults, being told by my very own guidance counselor that the best I could do was probably go into the Military because of the fact that I “looked” hispanic (I’m Asian mind you) is why we still haven’t gone far in this country and I don’t know if even when Barack becomes President will that change because there are people like Mike W., like the Anon that continually excuse the rhetoric… “Well, they didn’t say it out right… “Yes, you’re right they didn’t downright say let’s go after the guy However, it’s your duty as the possible “future” second in command to be conscientious of what you say and how you say it…

To the Mike W’s out there: If you really 100% feel that she’s “fit” and that the jargon was “harmless” then I hate to say this my friend but you are the reason why this country can’t move forward. I’m praying for you bro’ because I do think that you can change. You’ve got to let go of all the crap you’ve been stuffed though thru all the years and realize that the world is far bigger then Delaware, Pennsylvania or where ever you are.

  102. Donsquishy says:

    mike

this is the post you still need to finish. Maybe you have ADHD on top of several other learning disabilities.

so read around comment 90 something and get me those definitions.

answer the other questions too my little buddy.

Remember, I’m your daddy today and we are going to get this lesson right even if it takes all week.

  103. Donsquishy says:

    answer the question buddy.

de ja vu isn’t it little fella

  104. Donsquishy says:

    and yet here you are…

    again…

    to take a beating

  105. pandora says:

Mike, do you really think you’re going to win this battle with DV? Why not just answer the questions and be done with it?

  106. Donsquishy says:

    he likes the attention pandora.

he has no friends, no girlfriend, he is lonely, sad and this is how he associates with people.

  107. Donsquishy says:

I mean, what other person would tolerate this?

    the answer: A lonely one.

    I call it tough love.

  108. Pudding says:

“Remember, I’m your daddy today and we are going to get this lesson right even if it takes all week.”

    Look at his track record!

“and yet here you are…again…to take a beating”

To say nothing of his methods!!!
