John Kowalko to Host Energy Efficiency/Conservation Workshop

Filed in Delaware by on October 4, 2008

John Kowalko is a much better public servant than I can ever hope to be.  He sent me a list of initiatives and services to his constituents last week.  He asked me to get some of it up to get the word out on programs available to help Delawareans deal with issues affecting their lives.  I totally dropped tha ball.

Luckily, he reminded me and urged me to at least get the following up:

On October 8th John will be hosting an energy efficiency/conservation workshop at the Newark Senior Center at 10:30AM.  Delmarva Power will be on hand to help you save money heating your house this winter.

I was out going door to door with John Kowalko this morning off Old Baltimore Pike and what struck me was how many people came up to him and thanked him for his support on local constituent problems. The media often focuses on the statewide issues and they are important, but citizens like to know that their representatives are also working on their local quality of life issues like speed bumps to promote safety and proper drainage to avoid flash flooding, both issues that constituents said John had gone above and beyond on for them.
John needs others to help leaflet in his district over the next 4 weeks. If you like the service he has provided on health care, open government , affordable utilities and/or constituent services call and offer whatever time and energy you can.
