McCain/Palin get a spanking from FactCheck.org

How embarrassing!

Be honest… every blogger’s/pundit’s dream is to have FactCheck.org back up your premise. Having them post a full page spread calling you a liar… totally humiliating.

All factcheck is saying is that those rumors did not originate with the Obama campaign, which is true, they did not. For McCain to say that they did is simply not true.

However, we also find that many of the rumors about Palin (plenty of which you folks have jumped on as truth) are also false according to fact check.

I heard this story on MSNBC last night.
Ain’t it great to have the double punch of KO and Maddow every night now? She had reporters from both The Nation and Mother Jones as guests last night and KICKED some McPalin Butt.

  3. A. Bundy says:

Mike, I missed Pandora’s “embarrassing post” about the Palin “book banning” bullshit that these twits jumped all over. I’m sure that I am mistaken. I know that she must have posted about it.

    How embarrassing indeed!

Pandora, once again, your box is filled with a putrid, hypocritical stench!

If I were a Palin supporter I wouldn’t be handing out that factcheck.org piece. The factcheck article actually confirms the general truth of the rumor. It is rather damaging and you really can’t wave it around as as debunking.

Palin did fire the librarian who wouldn’t ban books. Palin did attend the secessionist AIP convention. Palin’s husband was a registered member (would the GOP let Michelle Obama get away with that?). Palin did support teaching creationism in science class.

  5. Unstable Isotope says:

Yes, how comes Obama’s patriotism is questioned over and over and yet Palin’s is not? Palin’s husband was the member of a secessionist group and Palin herself attended the conventions. Why isn’t Palin’s crazy pastor played on endless loop on cable news?

  6. Dorian Gray says:

Palin inquired about banning books and then dismissed the librarian (Ms. Emmons) when she responded in the negative to her “hypothetical”. I know that no books were actually removed from the collections. How is the story bullshit again? Is this OK with you? You are a fucking dipshit!

  7. Unstable Isotope says:

Seriously, I don’t think McCain and Palin care if Factcheck.org calls them liars. They know that many more people will hear the lie than hear the correction. I do think it’s a risky strategy but it is perhaps the only way they can win.

  8. mike w. says:

“I do think it’s a risky strategy but it is perhaps the only way they can win.”

    It certainly works for Obama.

  9. mike w. says:

By the way guys, it is perfectly acceptable to ask a librarian her position on banning books. If she answers that she would ban books that’s certainly a good reason to fire her.

  10. Unstable Isotope says:

Wasilla’s librarian answered that she would NOT ban books and Palin fired her. The librarian was reinstated after an outcry from the townspeople.

  11. Truth Teller says:

Mikie she fired the police chief because he wouldn’t ban guns

  12. DPN says:

    now that’s funny tt

  13. mike w. says:

Haha, very funny. What are we 2 years old?
