Republican Carl Cameron Accused McCain of Running “Haphazard” Campaign

Filed in National by on August 30, 2008

You know it is bad when Fox News talking heads diss McCain.

There is still a haphazard feel to much of what the McCain campaign does.
While they have plans, tactics and a strategy, there are bugs in the system that often complicate the message

He was talking about earlier staff screw ups, but that is a kind of rare and prescient comment from a straight up Republican shill like Cameron.

I had no plans on watching the TaliKlan rally next week, but now, shit, it just might be fun.

Fun as in watching the demolition of a very large superstructure.

  2. mike w. says:

The fact that the Fox News pundits and GOP insiders don’t like the pick makes me like it even more, not to mention it fits McCain’s “maverick” image.

  3. Brubaker says:

Yowie….I love how ANGRY this pick makes all the Delaware Liberal hamsters!!!

Guess all the Romney hate posters were printed and ready!!!

    Way to go, McCain!

  4. jason330 says:

Full disclosure. That quote dealt with prior staff screw ups, and I just updated the post to reflect that.

I meant to correct it prior to this going live, but I needed to walk the dog.

  5. mike w. says:

What’s funny is that if he’d picked romney or some other experienced “establishment” pick Dems would have bashed him for it. Instead he picks a younger woman with a record of actually getting shit done during her time in office and they bash him for that.

If he’d picked Romney Dems would bash him for not picking a minority/woman. He picks a woman and they still bash him for it.

  6. jason330 says:

Stop trying to put lipstick on this pig Mike. She is a terrible pick for you guys. It shows that the McCain camp is in a deep state of panick – there is no way around that basic truth.

  7. Brubaker says:

Okay…..how much didja spend on anti-Romney signs?

  8. Von Cracker says:

Setting: Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas – $5000 min High Roller Black Jack table….

Dealer: “The lady has 17; 20 for the gentleman; 15 for the young guy….and a pair of 9s for the Senator!”. “And the dealer has…….16.”

A hush goes over the table. Plenty of cash out there…maybe about 25k….

    Dealer: “To the lady…”

    Lady: “Pass”

    Gentleman: “Pass”

    Young Guy: “Pass”

    Senator McCain: “Hit me.”

Dealer: “Whaaat? Are you sure Senator?”

McCain: “I SAID HIT ME, YOU FUCKING CUNT!!!! I KNOW WHAT I’M DOING HERE!!!”

Dealer: “Mmmkay….Aw! Too bad, a Jack…the senator busts. And the dealer gets…..a five for twenty-one. Sorry friends, losers all around….”

Is this what you mean by “Maverick”, Mike?

  9. jason330 says:

I would have loved Romney. but this crazy-ass pick is even better. I dared not dream McCain would screw up so bad.

  10. Brubaker says:

    I’m not buying it J.

You guys have been spraying brown like a lactose intolerant cat.

McCain stole Nobama’s thunder. He caught us all off balance.

  11. Bob Cooper says:

Cameron is a terrible journalist –he sucked when he was with WMUR and he sucks now.

  12. cassandra_m says:

It certainly is not us that are having the issues: how about David Frum’s reaction:

Here’s I fear the worst harm that may be done by this selection. The McCain campaign’s slogan is “country first.” It’s a good slogan, and it aptly describes John McCain, one of the most self-sacrificing, gallant, and honorable men ever to seek the presidency.

But question: If it were your decision, and you were putting your country first, would you put an untested small-town mayor a heartbeat away from the presidency?

  13. jason330 says:

    Bru

You can buy it or not, but this VP pick is like Christmas for me.

  14. Von Cracker says:

Festivus for the rest of us. 😀

  15. Brubaker says:

So that means you’ll be chin up singing with all the other Whos in Whoville after the old Grinch steals it all in November?

  16. Unstable Isotope says:

It’s probably the first time I’ve ever agreed with a Fox News talking head! McCain’s campaign is baffling. I wonder why he changed his mind on Wed. night, the night he reportedly chose Palin. Did Bill Clinton’s or John Kerry’s or Joe Biden’s speech change his plans?

  17. Brubaker says:

    Gee, J, it’s like….something’s missing…..

hmmm……could it be one of my posts???? or both of your balls????

    Yep. It’s the balls.

  18. DPN says:

To paraphrase Joe M, the amount of spin that would make the Palin pick right will turn the earth into a fucking quasar.

  19. jason330 says:

How many times must we go through this Bru? You know the rules.

  20. Brubaker says:

    blah, blah, blah…..

no rules for donviti. you let the verbal diarrhea spew from that guy’s mouth with abandon.

  21. david says:

Mike W. The quote had nothing to do with the pick for VP. It has to do with what many people think of the McCain organization. It is different, but it is working. The VP pick is gaining excitement.

DELib have you looked at Carl’s voter registration? I don’t know what it is and I can’t tell by his reporting. Do you just assume everyone at Fox but noted Democrats are Republicans?

  22. jason330 says:

Carl is a known Republican. He did not disqualify himself from covering Bush even though his sister worked in the Administration and on Bush’s re-election campaign.

  23. kavips says:

I won’t comment until I see what John Stewart has to say about the subject….

That is where smart Americans get their news…..
