this day just keeps on getting better and better

  2. JohnnyX says:

I saw this clip on TV earlier today and was just like, “are you fucking kidding me?”

Anybody else see the clip of Ed Rendell at the governor’s convention saying how Palin was the only one who “did the electric slide” at some like cocktail hour or whatever they had “therefore disqualifying her from consideration for the McCain VP slot.” Apparently Fast Eddie spoke too soon…

  3. anon says:

I just can’t believe McCains lack of judgement on this! He talks to her on the phone, knows very little about her, overlooks all the seasoned campaigners and those with actual voters and went for “this woman”. Do you think he chose her for her looks and right wing views, or her vast knowledge of the what the VP of the US does? Does she realize she has to leave Alaska and whose gonna watch all those chillun?

Who names their kid Track, isnt that weird!

Now we have another Christine O, living in Alaska!

  4. Unstable Isotope says:

I assume she must not have gotten much vetting. I wonder how many more damaging quotes/videos are out there waiting to be found. Also, I read that the first troopergate report is supposed to come out in October. That should be fun.

Despite all the blustering from the Republicans that she is qualified, I read that the reaction from Alaska republicans was puzzlement and amazement.

  5. Joe M says:

Well, she may not know what the VP does, but at least she knows her running mate’s full name.

    Right?

    Right?

    Shit.

  6. Oh, yes the typical pull a quote out of context. The VP is not a consequential position unless the President makes it one. Quite frankly, no one knows what the VP does day to day besides preside over the Senate until the President and VP agree on a role.

It is quite obvious she was saying, my job here is fulfilling, if you want me as VP we have to agree that I will have a meaningful role and not be window dressing to get the women’s vote.

Isn’t that the kind of serious person you want?

  7. I would add that if a man made the same comment, it wouldn’t be viewed as ignorance but astuteness. That is why the Democrats may lose women this year.

She won’t be a token, she wants to represent the interests of the working people.

  8. mike w. says:

I’m noticing that many Dems are misogynist anytime Republicans dare nominate a woman to a position of power.

  9. From where I sit... says:

#2″……..the only one who “did the electric slide”

    AND your point is?

My guess is there just weren’t enough Sistah’s at the event…..(there’s your white skin priviledge showing again).

Let Sarah and her happy feet alone!

  10. casey says:

Everyone who thinks she doesn’t know what a VP does are absolutely Idiots. Hear it in context. She didn’t want to look like someone who wanted the VP job and she wanted to stress she has a job to do in Alaska. Boy you guys must be idiots if you think this. Or else you are really scared of this woman stealing Obama’s thunder and making a difference in the election.

  11. pandora says:

    Oh, she’s making a difference alright…

  12. mike w. says:

You know, you folks sure are talking a lot of crap about a woman whom you claim doesn’t help McCain at all. Are you scared of her?

  13. pandora says:

    No, entertained.

  14. delawaredem says:

LOL. Scared of her? Nope. We are just amazed. How could have McCain won your nomination with such horrible horrible judgment?

Oh wait, you all have horrible judgment. Nevermind.
