    So whats the impact on Markell/Carney ? With Beau out in Iraq, he can’t get the seat, can he ?

    The political ramifications of this pick are many.

    1. Obama wins Delaware by a margin of 60-40 at least.

    2. Lee and Copeland will both lose

    3. I am not sure of the impact on Markell v. Carney, except I can opine that if Carney is the loser, he is our next Senator. If Markell loses, he is not. Minner and Carney will be spiteful and appoint someone else.

    4. Expect “Biden as a gaffe-machine” to be the narrative here, resulting in SOME comment at some point turning into a massive media frenzy, even if it was no big deal

    5. I honestly cannot think of ONE potential McCain VP Biden would not chew up in a debate. I honestly think it is going to be an old hand like Romney or Lieberman. No way they throw Pawlenty or Whitman against Biden.

    Not being from Delaware, do you know if is legal for Biden to be on the Ballot for both Senate and VP. I believe it was legal for Lieberman in CT in 2000.
