Yesterday, On Morning Joe, Bob Herbert took on McCain’s Paris and Britney ads and pulled no punches.
After you watch the video (warning it is a little long, approx. 12 min.) I’d be interested in everyone’s opinion. Personally, I think Herbert nailed it!

And I thought you were known for your endurance!

He nailed it?? God you people are so thick.
Herbert was shown to be the utter moron that he is (and you fell for it 100%) — Washington Monument and Tower of Pisa?? Those edifices were from Obama’s latest European trip, specifically the Victory Column in Tiergarten Park in Berlin.

That was a little silly, but it doesn’t affect Herbert’s argument.

You didn’t address the argument, Hube. How unlike you.

Oh please. Anything and everything will be turned and twisted to somehow be “racist.”
But I know why you’re all quivering: Obama’s tied w/McCain when he should be TROUNCING him. I’d be quivering too if I were in your shoes.

Did I miss the memo where “Bob Herbert” mattered to the majority of Americans?
8 pandora // Aug 5, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Still haven’t addressed the issue, Hube.

Well, Herbert is wrong because no sane person would think, “Hmm. Paris Hilton. Britney Spears. Barack Obama. Oh, yeah. Black dude wants to get it on with our white wimmin!” Only liberals believe every campaign ad with their black candidate must be racist. And an effective ad that points out Obama’s celebrity status is based on nothing he’s done MUST be racist, eh?

Hop on over to my Surge post, Sharon. Would love to hear your opinion.

Sharon’s already said pretty much what I was going to. Good job.
And for those of you (like Obama) crying racism. Shame on you!
It’s just yet another flip-flop for Obama, who said he wouldn’t make race an issue. Of course when he thinks it might benefit him he’ll gladly jump at the chance to play the race card.
12 Pandora // Aug 6, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Really, Mike and Sharon? No one would think that would hit a nerve? Not even Harold Ford?
And Obama hasn’t touched the issue.
13 mike w. // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:09 pm
“And Obama hasn’t touched the issue.”
How the hell can you say that given his recent comments? He said that McCain was going to try to scare voters because “I don’t look like all those other Presidents on the dollar bill.”
How that can be interpreted as anything other than playing the “race card” is beyond me.
14 Pandora // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:19 pm
And does McCain play the age = experience card? Is it okay for McCain to address an issue that has been viewed as a negative.
Obama’s black. Acknowledging that isn’t playing the race card. He doesn’t look like other Presidents. Neither did Hillary Clinton.
Funny, how you accuse Obama supporters of seeing race in everything when it’s, in fact, exactly what you do. But that’s the plan… isn’t it?

“Obama’s black. Acknowledging that isn’t playing the race card. He doesn’t look like other Presidents. Neither did Hillary Clinton.”
He didn’t just “acknowldege” it, he said that McCain is going to try and make you afraid of me BECAUSE I’M BLACK.” (which is completely untrue)
He’s pulling the race card out to use against McCain when McCain has gone to great length to avoid any mention, or even hint of race in this campaign.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

So you’re saying he didn’t play the race card with his “He want’s to make you afraid of me because I don’t look like all the other Presidents on the dollar bill?”
You’re really going to sit here and try to tell me Obama wasn’t specifically referring to race with that comment…… jesus talk about having your head in the sand woman.

Did you even watch the video before posting? Cafferty makes the point.
And let’s see… race, race card, and racism. Psst… these words have different meaning.

dr. Po, the colonel ??? feel like sticking to one name?
21 mike w. // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:51 pm
So tell me Pandora - What was he getting at when he said McCain is going to try and make you afraid of me because I don’t look like the other President’s on the dollar bill?
That’s not “acknowledging” he’s black. Everyone knows that.
22 mike w. // Aug 6, 2008 at 1:51 pm
“dr. Po, the colonel ??? feel like sticking to one name?”
says the guy who’s changed his name

So is Pandora going to try and explain away Obama playing the race card?
