The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, where researchers have tracked network news content for two decades, found that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Obama than on Republican John McCain during the first six weeks of the general-election campaign.
During the evening news, the majority of statements from reporters and anchors on all three networks are neutral, the center found. And when network news people ventured opinions in recent weeks, 28% of the statements were positive for Obama and 72% negative.
Just shocking, shocking news

You will never get wingnuts to admit that the media is anything other than “liberal.”
It is an article of faith that has been drilled into their thick heads like a catechism and it can’t be dislodged with actual facts.

I’m sorry, is there someone running against Obama?
I smell press interference. They want a close race, and they’ll make it close if they have to.

In addition to a close race, I think that national media types really like McCain (and I have no doubt he’s a likable guy in person), and seem to reflexively work at better treatment of him. His recent flip flopping on the Iraq timeline would have been a race-killer if it was Obama who had fundamentally changed his position on the cornerstone of his campaign.

Agreed.
