One More Day to File
The 62 District Strategy has been achieved in the Senate. Democrats have recruited Michael Katz to run for Gavin Newsom’s…er ah… Charlie Copeland’s seat in the 4th. He awaits the winner of a three way Republican primary. We have recruited Gary Downes to face Republican Senator Gary Simpson in the 18th. Democrats have a five seat majority (13-8), and with them defending three open seats, it is impossible for them to even gain seats this cycle. Indeed, it will be a moral victory for the Republicans if they do not lose any more seats. I say it is highly likely that the Democrats will pick up at least one, maybe two, of the open seats. Probably the 10th, but the 17th is a possibility as well.
In the House, we are apparently not challenging Lavelle (11th), Hudson (12th), Manolakos (20th), Miro (22nd), Oberle (24th), Outten (30th), Blakely (34th), Carey (36th), Hocker (38th), and Lee (40th).
10 Republicans that we are not holding accountable. That is unacceptable, but I am encouraged by Representative Gilligan’s comments last week that by 2010, we will be challenging every seat. And there is still more time to file. The deadline is tomorrow.
Below the fold there is a chart of all of the races this fall. I am trying to find all the candidate’s websites, if they have them. If you know of one that I do not have, post it in the comments. Thanks.

D’oh! How could I forget him. Wait…has he filed yet?? This chart is from the ballot qualified candidates list. Hmmmm….

Quinn Johnson’s (8th RD) website is quinnjohnson.org. Becky Walker (9th) also has a website, though I’m not sure what it is and google doesn’t return either of them.
We can’t seem to get the deldems or the DE elections folks to post these sites on their pages…any help could be greatly appreciated!
