Obama is Already The Acting President

Did you notice how everyone was waiting to hear from Obama on FISA in order to get a clear sense of where we are going with this as a nation?

Unlike George Bush, Obama released a Presidential statement that lays the ground work for moving forward.

1) The country needs a real defense policy, which

2) Does not erode civil liberties, and

3) Does not provide retro-active immunity for lawbreakers.

    Yes indeed. Granting illegal combatants full habeas corpus protections — which LEGAL combatants have never enjoyed — sure is a winner in a “real” defense policy.

    Yeah, and I LOVE how he stood up and demanded that congress not bail the telecom industry out of potential litigation for violating our civil liberties. That was really brave of him.
