Republican 527 groups are promising a vicious attack on Barack Obama, and all I can think to say is… How’s that working for ya?
The Promise:
“We will attack Obama viciously on all fair issues, whether they are national security, whether they are taxes or the economy,” promised Chris LaCivita, one of the Republican strategists behind the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that attacked Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry in 2004. LaCivita added: “At the end of the day, every individual has a right to participate in the political process whether John McCain likes it or not. It’s their constitutional right.”
The Result so far:
Vice President Dick Cheney campaigned for Davis the day before the special election, and Davis ran ads trying to tie Childers to Barack Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the national Democratic Party’s policies.
Umm… Davis lost.
So did the Republicans in Illinois and Louisiana.

“At the end of the day, every individual has a right to participate in the political process whether John McCain likes it or not. It’s their constitutional right.”
Swell. All he has to do now is explain how a 527 qualifies as an “individual.”

No worry, Geek! Although I’m tempted to make a classic DV response… *blush*

The best part was that on MSNBC no one could seem to remember Davis’ name, including Huckabee who actually said this:
“I campaigned for the candidate”
The candidate. Not Davis.
