“‘Bush’s approval rating, which stands at 28 percent in our new poll, remains better than the all-time lows set by Harry Truman and Richard Nixon [22 percent and 24 percent, respectively], but even those two presidents never got a disapproval rating in the 70s,’ Holland said. ‘The previous all-time record in CNN or Gallup polling was set by Truman, 67 percent disapproval in January 1952.’ . . .

Yikes!
NEW YORK, April 29, 2008 — Optimism in the domestic economy dropped dramatically among U.S.-based industrial manufacturers in the first quarter according to the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Manufacturing Barometer. Only 12 percent of senior executives surveyed are optimistic about the U.S. economy’s prospects over the next year, a drop from the 29 percent who were optimistic last quarter and the 57 percent who were optimistic one year ago in Q1 2007.
Three-quarters (75 percent) of industrial manufacturers reported that they believed the domestic economy was declining, while only five percent believed it was growing.

Ouch!
And my grocery bill this week was 264.77. A year ago my bill averaged 190.00 for basically the same stuff.
Good thing we aren’t in a recession.

You wonder if they really needed a poll to know that.
But if you look at the Gallup charts — who the heck are the 6% of Dems who approve of this guy?

Leiberman’s constituents and Rush Limbaugh’s party switchers. That sounds about right.
Oh, and is Zell Miller still alive?
