Jason Talking About Harris McDowell Blogging on WDEL at 9:00am With Al Mascitti

Filed in National by on May 1, 2008

We’ll be talking about my Harris McDowell posts and wind power, so if you have a question or want to berate me for my utter disregard for the conventions of written English please call in.

I wonder if anyone will ask me if I’m worried about being sued by McDowell for libel or slander since I keep calling him a liar, fraud, crook, Delmarva Power lobbyist, and loser?

( If they do my answer will be simply, No.)

I’ll be in the studio, so I guess I have arrived.

can’t be slander if it’s true.

  7. Jason330 says:

    Exactly.

  8. Good luck with your show, but do make sure you have facts.

Your fear should not be Sen. McDowell, any attacks will come fom other sources and they will be unrelenting.

  9. FSP says:

Yeah, like, people might threaten you with lawsuits that never actually materialize, or something…

  10. Rebecca says:

The problem with lawsuits is the stuff that comes out in discovery. I don’t think anybody from the other side wants that to happen.

Please thank Al for putting this on a front burner. I will be, fingers crossed, hoping for a small rant on air with one of the best former famous NJ employees, as to why the News Journal is WAY TOO QUIET on this matter. If it weren’t the only large paper in the state, one might think they were trying to cover up something,…… or protect someone………..Hmm.

Perhaps it is because they are just jealous and trying to make the issue go away……so their readership doesn’t flock to more newsworthy sources…..(yeah right) Protect someone? Hmm.

And in my wishful thinking frame of mind………if you get one sly moment, you could elbow them in the ribs by mentioning that perhaps News Journal readers who are disenfranchised with Williams philosophy, should vacate the News Journal as their local source and instead, turn to WDEL, WGMD, and blogs as being much more credible sources who still sift through their facts before weighing in on favoring an antique opinion…..

That is probably too cool to hope for, but in the long term, as soon as Delaware citizens drop their reading of the News Journal, (or the News Journal starts shaking things up) this state will instantly start to improve……

Need an example? The ridiculous glorification of Adams, Copeland, McDowell, and Deluca. If one doesn’t read the blogs, one could still think these four are doing Delaware a favor….. if their only source was the News Journal 🙂

Anyway,…….as Bill and Ted once said…………..”You have been given a most magnificent opportunity……”

I”m looking forward to our segment. As a prologue, I encourage everyone to read the last line in Aaron Nathans’ front-page story on the potential Senate vote on HCR 38. It’s absolutely, staggeringly priceless:

“It’s unethical to talk about what goes on in caucus.”

This is amazing on a couple of levels. First of all, he’s as wrong as he can be, which, considering this is Harris McDowell, is stunningly wrong indeed. If we could get Karen Peterson’s bill through the GA, it would not only be ethical, it would be a legal requirement that citizens know what’s being done in their names. Second, we now have it, straight from his own mouth, that he doesn’t have the faintest idea of what the word “ethical” means.

  13. can we talk about Molly Cyrus too though?

  14. Please don’t stray off onto Britney Spears’ pantiless crotch!! Focus on the General Assembly’s lack of balls in standing up to the Dover DEM power fucks.

  15. annon2 says:

Wind farm has Senate Votes story. It’s buried on the news journal website though it is on the front page today.

  16. I haven’t even read the paper this morning. There is so much good stuff on the local blogs and radio drawing me in.

EXCELLENT job Jason. And remember all, we have not one penny to gain by investigating this. Those of us who live in Sussex only want to breathe cleaner air.
