heh heh…I bet it felt good for them to do

Figures on vandalized foreclosures are hard to come by, because owners can legally do what they want with homes until lenders seize property titles

Usually a person just takes a stove or breaks a window, but Burton had one case where someone ripped out plumbing, wiring, heating - “just about everything imaginable. The walls were kind of demolished and anything of value was removed.”

Sticking it to the man! I love it. So just remember, it’s your house and you can do WHATEVER you want to it before the bank takes it back.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Would anyone be surprised to hear that Tom Carper is introducing legislation that would allow Banks to go after “trashout” forclosed homeowners for civil and criminal penalties? I wouldn’t.

I’m kind of surprised by the poll numbers on the left of this page.

As it turns out there were about 250 foreclosures started in NCC last month. That was an 11% increase over last March which is not bad considering someplaces are seeing 25 and 30 % increases.

Tempers are rising, and it’s understandable. And, Carper’s actions don’t surprise me.

The poll is surprising. My city neighborhood has one empty house (that I’ve seen), but that has to do with unrealistic pricing. Also, we’ve seen an influx of older, former suburban residents moving in. They cite down-sizing in regards to utility bills.

Clarification - Carper has not introduced that kind of bill. I’m just saying that I would not put it past him.

You mean Tom “put yourself in the shoes of the credit card company” Carper?

My vote of yes was simply a reflection of the question. There are indeed homes that the owners have moved out of before sale, but usually, they are still on the market and the people carry two mortgages. This has happened quite regularly in my neighborhood.

So, if you buy a house you can’t afford, you ought to tear up the place before foreclosure, to “stick it to the man.” Just brilliant. :(

    sirens are going off…

    talking point, talking point…abort, abort

    woooh, woooh,awwwwoooogaaaa

everybody likes to forget about energy prices, food prices and those little things that also impact a persons life…

but yes, they bought a house they couldn’t afford and planned on being foreclosed on because they were selfish, uneducated and most likely liberal

I’ll bet the ‘Trashers”, nor the government, have to spend a cent on mental health treatments…they’ve gotten it all out of their systems (I hope: for our sake).

Sounds like a ‘plan’ if your dream is being jerked away by the courts and the banks. Having been a ‘headbasher’ or two w/gov. & banks I can feel a Trasher’s pain.

heh heh…i bet it felt even better for the bank to throw them out onto their homeless asses!

I doubt it Bundy. Banks are in the lending business. They don’t buy real estate or want to take possesion of it.

    but good try…
