Hartley-Nagle Outlines Energy Policy

Congressional Candidate Pushes Green Power, Rejects Nuclear
Wilmington, Delaware – Democratic Congressional Candidate Karen Hartley-Nagle released a policy paper outlining her stance on energy policy. The policy is centered around clean, renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, and speaks out against such bad actors as fossil fuels—including “clean coal”—and nuclear power.Says Hartley-Nagle, “Delaware has the opportunity to embrace revolutionary technologies like wind, solar and geothermal; instead, we’ve stalled on an offshore wind farm, we continue to burn 19th century fuel sources, and we now have Mike Castle saying that Delaware should go nuclear. It’s time that we move forward.”

Hartley-Nagle says that much of the problem stems from special interests, an issue which has halted reforms in everything from nationwide vehicle efficiency standards to the construction of a wind farm which could sustain almost 30% of Delawareans’ energy usage.

WELL SAID!! (emphasis added)

In the meantime, this reminds me. The one thing Biden and Carper are very good at is constituent services. Would it make any sense to write to these guys as constituents with a problem. For example…

Dear Congressman –

A few members of our state legislature are working on the behalf of Delamarva Power instead of working for the common good of all Delawareans.

Would it be possible for your office to look into this situation?

Obviously this is not a typical constiuent services request – but if Biden & Carper get enough of these calls they might be moved to act in some way ?

Long term nuclear is all we have to fall back on. Mid-term we will probably use coal with CO2 capture. Some have called America the mideast of coal reserves. The trick is to avoid pouring out noxious fumes. That is nearing reality. Also, coal gasification looks promising.

“Green” solar, wind, geothermal, hydro and tidal power is great where feasible, but it will probably not get us very far on it’s own. The technology will simply not yield enough power to be economical yet – in most places.

    Some have called…

Yep. People who make money from burning dirty coal and bringing down Mnts in W Va.

  3. The real solutions to global warming are the ones Heartly-Nagle outlines in here energy policy. Wind, solar, and wave energy are clean renewable sources of energy that can produce good jobs for people in Delaware.

Carbon capture technology is at least a decade away and has never been proven to work on a large scale. Likewise, Nukes are too expensive an cannot deliver in time.

    Heartley-Nagle has the right idea.

Heartley-Nagle is taking the right action and showing real leadership in her fight against global warming.
Wind, solar, and geothermal energy is needed now and will help fight against the problem that affects all. Nuclear is not the way to go and will lead us on a path of destruction.
Heartley-Nagle is taking us on a clean path, and promising a future.
