What a maverick!

He still votes the way his party leaders tell him to vote.

  2. Brian says:

  6. Von Cracker says:

    good point!

  7. nemski says:

OK, I am missing something here.

    The lead . . .

The House approved $18 billion in new taxes on the largest oil companies Wednesday as Democrats cited record oil prices and rising gasoline costs in a time of economic troubles.

    Deeper into the article.

Republicans contended the tax proposals would cut investment in oil and gas development and lead to even higher prices. “This bill singles out one industry,” complained Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas.

Delaware Republican Mike Castle voted in favor of the measure, one of 17 Republicans to do so.

    And further yet.

The bill would roll back two lucrative tax breaks for the largest U.S. oil companies. The money would go for tax incentives to support wind, solar and biofuel industries as well as energy efficiency programs.

Am I missing something here. Apparently Castle voted for something good.

  8. David says:

Jesus Christ Castle is a dumb fuck

  9. Hank says:

    David and Jason

You both misunderstand what the bill is doing and how he voted. If you are talking about Renewable Energy Bill then you are way off base. This is something Castle did right. The bill would cut 18 Billion in tax incentives away from big oil companies and use the money to boost incentives for renewable energy. So by saying he is wrong or dumb, you are saying that the big oil companies should get the tax break. I don’t understand your logic?

  10. jason330 says:

Castle appears to have voted the right way on this.

    I blame Kavips.

  11. liberalgeek says:

Actually, according to Nancy (linked in the Kavips story) the AP reported Castle’s vote wrong. Leading to an unfortunate string of posts throughout the blogosphere.

  12. Von Cracker says:

    Yay Mike!

  13. Brian says:

Thank you Mike. Please do not give in to those interests.

  14. anon says:

Obviously Castle got a pass to vote Yes on the bill.

(if you think Castle just can’t get a break around here – you’re right).

  15. Brian says:

Well, Anon if the AP was wrong, how can you expect people here to be right? I’d think with as many terms in office as he has had we give him a fair shake and we would not bitch if he would think of Delaware first more often.

  16. nemski says:

I think Castle deserves a reach around for this one.

  17. liz allen says:

and just where is McCastle on Wind! and why does McCastle protect the Valeros, Motivas and Indian River power plants! ooohhh lets not get all goo eyed over Mike! Need a more in depth view of his most recent vote! Has to be a trick in their somewhere.

  18. David says:

OK OK, but Castle is still a dumb ass
