Open Letter to Mike Protack

UPDATE: Turns out DelPesco is not running. Back to the drawing board for Castle, DuPont and Strine.
———————————————————————————————————-
Hi Mike,

How’s it going? You have not commented since Levin dropped out, but now you are back. Cool! I like the way you always take the high road. You are always welcome here. Quick question though, that comment sticking up for Mike Castle…what was up with that?

You know Castle is a part of the GOP star chamber that recruited Judge Susan DelPesco to run against you right?

Doesn’t it say something about the republican party when they have to drag a judge out before the end of her term to run for Gov?

Mike, I for one do not dish you because you are a candidate…you have every right to run and I do not support the attacks you get from talk show hosts, and some of your fellow republicans, but it certainly sounds fishy they would go so far as to go after a sitting judge!

  2. donviti says:

    liz,

republicans love to go after sitting judges

  3. Dana Garrett says:

“republicans love to go after sitting judges”

Remember how after Levin dropped out and they couldn’t think of who to get to run, the Repubs admitted they don’t have many players they can go to on the bench?

If this story is true, it seems that’s all they have.

  4. Sagacious Steve says:

Just askin’, where have you confirmed she’s not running? There was no sourcing on your update.

  5. jason330 says:

I should have linked back to DelawareWatch

  6. Sagacious Steve says:

Maybe I missed it, but I checked the link and nowhere does it say that she will not run. As near as I can tell, she hasn’t said she will and she hasn’t said she won’t.

  7. Sagacious Steve says:

Got it now. No definitive word that she’s not running, just word that it is by no means substantiated that she is running.

It would actually make some sense. They could roll enough people out of the Vicmead Hunt Club to make sure that Pilot Pornstache is not the nominee. And at least Del Pesco would be a credible name that would enable R’s to run downticket w/o having to suppress their gag reflexes. In what passes for the Rethuglican Party these days, that’s a win-win.

  8. Jason,

Good morning, I am glad you are doing well. As far as what the GOP has it is more an issue of what we need. A canadidate who has credibility on the issues which matter to voters. Health Care, Education and Economic Growth are the issues for 2008.

Resumes are great but they do not produce votes. Relevance is much more importance than pedigree.

You mention a GOP star chamber. I think that concept is blown out of proportion much to the detriment of the party and yes the issues which voters care about.

I do not see Carney or Markell as invincible in any way.

I support Mike Castle until there is a better alternative.

  9. Al Mascitti says:

“I do not see Carney or Markell as invincible in any way.”

You might want to check those glasses. Of course, that’s easy to say given you’re not going to run against them. I’ll be eager to hear what you say afterwards if you do end up with the nomination and one or the other mops the floor with you.

  10. disbelief says:

Al, that would be Markell doing the mopping.

  11. Sagacious Steve says:

The saucy Susan Del Pesto is not running per Celia:

    An emphatic no.
