If you go, be sure to be there at least an hour early (90 minutes would be better) because with school in session parking will be a problem.

You want to either use college road that loops around campus from the Acme light and turn right into Lot 16 behind the MBNA building, or come into DSU from the main entrance off Rt 13 opposite Lowe’s, then turn right after passing security and take a right again into Lot 1. Then you can walk across campus (this will take longer, but it will probably take at least 1/2 an hour off your time to get out).

Please take time to talk the to members of the DSU Young Democrats who will be providing directions and helping with the hosting. All of us at DSU of whatever ideological stripe have been working hard to cultivate ANY sense of political activism among our students, and I know they would appreciate even just a “Thank you for caring.”

The Young Democrats advisor, by the way, is Dr. I. Udezulu of my own Department of History, Political Science and Philosophy; she is doing yeoman work.

We are seriously hoping this fall to have DSU serve as the site of a gubernatorial debate, which our Mass Comm dept will webcast. Dr. U and I are working on this, and one idea we thought of was either inviting some of the denizens of the blogosphere to be the moderators, or at least to set up a “live blog” line to generate questions.

I hope we can count on everybody’s help.

  2. Isn’t there an RSVP required?

    Nancy
I am pretty sure the RSVP is for the Wilmington appearance; Jason, do you know?

But I have to warn you that Longwood auditorium is not HUGE, and is a table-seating type of auditorium (I have no idea why we’re not using the larger EH auditorium but I will find out on Monday).

No RSVP for this one that i know of.

Thanks for the logistical tips Steve.

  5. The State News gave the same # as for the Wilmington visit for the RSVP.

  6. Steve Newton says:

I just verified with Obama HQ that you are supposed to do an RSVP for the Dover event.
