I think I will follow this up with a poll for “Best Delaware Political Scandal.”  I will accept nominations in the comments section.  Here’s a few to get you started:

  • John Atkins self-destruction
  • Mike Protack’s Router
  • The Lowfink Escheat Scandal

Get your nominations in.  Nominations will be closed at 3 PM on the 26th.  I will then activate a poll to vote on it.

Bob Allen!! Oh my goodness! How did I not know that story? Classic!

In your poll don’t forget family vlaues champion, John Still living outside of his district with his lover. That’s a goodie. But I’m going to vote for Lofink.

Here we have a son of a state rep who takes a powder with millions of dollars and the NJ observes some kind of code of silence.

Compare that to what happened when a nurse at a psychatric hospital made some claims that other nurses sucked.

You get like 20 consecutive stories, none of which mentioned the fact that Cathcart had been fired by Vince Meconi a while back.

  2. Rebecca says:

Or you might like to nominate the Senate rules and those who voted for them, and for Adams as Pro Tem.

  3. anon says:

    Tom Carper voting with Bush.

I’m commenting tom my new phone

  5. I vote for the destruction of the good government group, Common Cause for one of the top ten.

BTW, my IP is blocked from all of the word.press blogs and DWA. Anyone have any details for me???

If word.press endorses and supports suppression of speach, maybe you all should consider switching back to blogspot.

DE Lib no longer uses word.press does it?

Is there something you want to tell me?

  6. To be clear, I am blocked from DELib too. There are hundreds of public pcs in my town so it won’t stop me from commenting.
    just saying.

Nancy – You aren’t being blocked as far as I know. It is possible that you have been blocked by the wordpress spam blocker (which we still use). I can turn it off and we’ll see if you still have issues.

Otherwise, we are just using WordPress the software, not wordpress the service.

  8. Sagacious Steve says:

Don’t forget Wayne Smith announcing his resignation less than one month into his new term, saddling the State with the $30K bill for the Special Election, becoming a corporate lobbyist, and, on June 30, meeting behind closed doors with his former caucus and convincing them to bury Matt Denn’s health insurance pool legislation.

  9. anon says:

Nancy… the spam filter is shared Borg-like among all WordPress blogs. WordPress is understandably shy about telling what their spam criteria are, but usually it is triggered by lots of links, whitespace, all caps, stuff like that. If you didn’t get a specific “you are blocked” message, your messages are probably sitting in everybody’s spam queue.

Unless WordPress suddenly turned on some feature that blacklists you when it thinks you have submitted spam.

Oberle, padding his wifes pocket while directing lucrative bids while serving on the money committees.

  11. G Rex says:

My vote goes to the City of Wilmington assessing back wage taxes (w/interest & penalties) on the basis of rolling 20-sided dice and referring to a chart in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

“Your party is ambushed by orcs, and your Elf warrior is incapacitated by an arrow to the shoulder. Surrender 500 gold pieces or the orcs will cut off your heads.”

  12. liberalgeek says:

Comments below this one were not considered for the poll (which is now posted).

  13. All great choices!

As for the blocking, I have made all manner of comments from three words to a few sentences. I tried not to go crazy incase they were to show up all of a sudden.

There were no particular characteristic of the posts besides coming from my IP.

  14. G Rex says:

WTF was the Blue Hens Promotions scandal? Was that something to do with UD not reserving enough tickets for the championship game in Chattanooga?

I vote for Torturin Tom Carper! This guy voted for Bush and his torture policies as many times as Joe Sleiberman. Torturin Tom Carper is the most powerful democrat in Delaware politics, he not so secretly will do anything to keep Mike Sandcastlegate Castle in power. Tom Carper is making decisions for Governor and every dem office in between. How this right wing neo con ever got such power is beyond my worst conspiracy theory!

Lets not forget Vince Merconi was on Carpers staff…won one election and put out….now he without any qualifications to be DHSS secretary has turned DHSS into the dehumanizing, sanctioned abuse and neglect agencies…and no matter what horror there is in the states agency, Torturin Tom will make sure through his democratic general assy incumbents that Vince will keep his job,no matter what.

Next, it will be interesting to see if Torturin Tom actually picks the new Governor….will he pick Jack (who is suddenly calling his insurance company/hmo plan (mitt romneys) plan…universal health care…or will he choose Carney and his worthless health care plan for Delaware! Both these cats got their talking points from the De. Chamber of Commerce whom they loaded up on the Del. Health Care Commission….all of them are terrifed of the truth…that 3 independent studies picked “single payer health care”, hands down. So dont believe the myth of Markell, or the stupidity of Carney’s plans…both plans will cause more jobs to leave Delaware and will not improve health care one iota. I thought Jack would be smarter…and pick true universal, non government health plan supported and sponsored by 18 legislators….but I guess those campaign contributions coming from the biggest insurance company/hmo’s lobbyist, including the State Chamber of Commerce who sells the worst insurance in the entire state. Torturin tom has my vote.

  16. jason330 says:

Carper will pick Carney. They go way back.
