Breaking: News Journal to drop the word “News” from masthead

Filed in National by on December 24, 2007

The word “News” implies that the contents of the paper include something “new” or at least not old. Gannett has determined that it just doesn’t make sense for the paper to continue with that bit of fraudulence.

Case in point: Jack Markell’s brilliant Tubby Raymond Ad aired three times during the cable broadcast of the school’s appearance in the national championship game Dec. 14th.

The News Journal printed a story about it on December 24th. It took 10 DAYS for those nit-wits to cobble together a little story.

Related Note: Rumors that Alan Levin will run against Mike Protack got a shot in the arm with the release of this first Alan Levin AD.
