Fuck Iowa and fuck Iowans

Kavips lays it down.

Iowa is soon approaching….But we forget that Iowa is not a primary…..Anyone can crossover party lines and support the other parties candidate they think will be the easiest to beat….Obama is legally allowed to bus natives of nearby Illinois, who meet some general qualifications, into Iowa to attend caucuses. The entire operation, is a show of support by only the party faithful…Most are often given rides by the very organization they then vote for….It demonstrates who has the best campaign machine, not really the best way to determine the best candidate…..But nevertheless, a win in Iowa, is a win… One that provides media bounce once you get to New Hampshire. All of us are on pins and needles as we await Jan. 3, 2008…..

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Why in the world do we let a bunch of dumabasses who don’t have the sense to move out of IOWA pick who gets to run for President? It is the stupidest fucking system in the world and if aliens descended in their spacecraft and asked us why we let 200,000 morons in the middle of fucking nowhere have veto power over who runs for President of the most important country in the world our only possible answer would be, “Because we are retarded.”

As per your title, I have on good authority, that when it comes to that, they are pretty good…………………

“…and if aliens descended in their spacecraft…”

They would be able to vote, because you don’t even need to show I.D.

I agree with you Jason, it is a real disgrace that we hang on to this broken system as if it’s mandatory.

Fact is though, that laws are being manipulated and internal party sanctions are being delved out in support of this mess.

  3. Al Mascitti says:

It’s a dumb system, but according to friends who moved there, Iowa is actually a pretty nice place, and more liberal than most of flyover country.

  4. jason330 says:

Tell your stupid Iowa friends that I said, “Thanks for John Kerry, you morons.”

  5. Dana says:

One of the great things about our designed-by-coincidence-and-habit primary system is that it exposes the candidates to both the up-close-and-personal politics of Iowa and New Hampshire, and the big-television-market campaigns required in Tsunami Tuesday. By not having a one-day national primary, the candidates get weeded out more slowly, and the front-runner going in doesn’t always win.

We could always pick nits at our bastardized system, except that the alternatives are no better, and probably worse.

Don’t fix it; it really isn’t broken.

  6. Al Mascitti says:

They moved there in ’05. They’re for Obama. And they aren’t stupid.

  7. John Feroce says:

“Don’t fix it; it really isn’t broken.”

I beg to differ, it really is broken…they should adopt the Delaware Plan – “in this proposal, all of the states would be divided by reverse population order into four pods, with the smallest like Delaware (and Wyoming, too) in the first pod and the largest like California and Texas in the last.

The states would hold their primaries and caucuses by pod, with each pod voting three or four weeks apart. It would be optional under the Delaware Plan whether New Hampshire and Iowa, the traditional first states, would be allowed to vote ahead of the pods or else be folded into them.

Mathematically there would be no way for a candidate to gather enough delegates for the nomination until every pod voted. Every state would have a say, every region of the country would matter, and every voter would count.”

    attack of the pod people

    grrrrrr

  9. jason330 says:

    I like the Delaware plan.

    Grrr.

  10. Dana says:

Of course, the best plan would be to restore the franchise to what the founding fathers intended: that only white male property owners could vote.

  11. Iowa says:

On behalf of the entire state of Iowa, go fuck yourself. You think we want a bunch of morons who inhabit the coasts to decide things like that? We gave you Kerry because that’s what you deserve…another moron.

  12. anon says:

Hey, Iowa-dude – you gave us Bush ’04 too. We’ll see who’s the moron in February.

  13. jason330 says:

Oh it is soooo on Iowa. You have no idea what a can of whip ass you just opened on your suck ass state.
