    *crickets chirp*

No “booh-yas!” from the gung-ho wing nuts who were so hot to go to war.

    Shocking.

  2. Skipster says:

I’m sorry, but I think this is abusive. It’s something the right-wingers would do. You seem to be saying since it’s a volunteer force, he was a sucker for joining. He may indeed think it was worthwhile. He may have been wounded saving the lives of his buddies or protecting Iraqi civilians from Blackwater for that matter. Your clever irony of Happy Veterans Day comes across as belittling him and his sacrifice. I know that’s not what you intended.
As the country deals with the aftermath of this disastrous White House run no-win war, we face a massively under-prepared and under-funded VA system which was not allowed to budget for any increased demand on its services-by both the Bushies (what’s he know any way about vets-it’s not like he served) and by the DeLayites (removing Rep. Chris Smith of Trenton as Chair of the VA Committee in ’04 because he was too pro-veteran). Our wounded vets are going to need all the sympathy and support possible as the conservatives will throw them under the deuce and a half to save on spending(Can’t tax those hedge fund masters, you know) So a little less irony please.

  3. Steve Newton says:

Skipster says, “Your clever irony of Happy Veterans Day comes across as belittling him and his sacrifice. I know that’s not what you intended.”

    I’m not so sure.

  4. Let me say what many are thinking. Veteran’s Day is not about poltical pettiness or anything resembling an agenda. Your photo is a sad way to say you disagree with the President. There are better ways to do so.

I do not think this young man “signed up” for the wounds he suffered. However, we are responsible for making him as whole as possible.

You may not think this war is worth it but Veteran’s Day is about remembering national sacrifice and a single day where we all say “Thanks” to those who served.

  5. John Feroce says:

    Hey Donviti

    Fuck you!

Funny how the GOP’s rush to war based on a lie does not seem to belittle his sacrifce but a little blog post on an out of the way blog does. I guess everyhting that happens IS good for the GOP. Thanks for that refresher. (…as if I don;t get that point shoved up my ass five times a day.

Good post Donviti. I’m sick and tired of walking on eggshells around fancy pants centertist like skipster.

You guys rooted this war into being. Deal with it.

  9. Dave says:

And the Donviti-fication of Jason is complete.

  10. donviti says:

in a sanitized media people forget what our Veterans sacrifice really means.

  11. donviti says:

When we honor veterans day we don’t fucking honor Jean Kelly and his Faggy dancing across some stupid movie set

We don’t honor John Wayne and his holsters riding at his hips.

We don’t honor jim Brown and the dirty dozen

we honor brave souls that risk life and limb literally for people that want to wage war and free men.

well guess what look at that man right fucking there. He joined and I’m sure I can fucking find a comment our two from dave, chris and even duffy that says people know what they are signing up for.

Well this man is a veteran. You don’t have to like my picture and I don’t care.

Sorry if I don’t get out my patriotic picture of Iwo Jima for you to salute and cry over.

I guess I’m just not as patriotic as you all am I? I only show the other side of the veterans that serve.

  12. bc says:

I used to occasionally post here, but then gave up arguing with imbeciles.

I almost gave up reading this crap after your posts on 9/11, but like a car accident I couldn’t turn away.

But now, I think this officially does it for me. I find Liberalgeeks posts to at least be consistent and well thought out, but Jason and Donviti’s posts have turned disgusting and idiotic. You two are pure trash and frankly incapable of anything other than foaming at the mouth and demonstrating the worst in humanity.

To Dave and Mike Protack I seriously suggest you stop reading and posting on this website, it only hurts your credibility that you take this crap seriously.

To my grandfather, God rest his sole, and all Veterans, thank you for your service.

Fuck you Jason and Donviti and I hope you two rot in hell.

  13. donviti says:

    skipster,

maybe if more people took a look at this veteran we would have more people marching to get the fuck out of iraq.

Maybe just maybe everyone that is so offended at my picture is b/c they don’t want to be reminded of what the other side of serving means to people.

go ahead all of you. chant away for war.

Say what we are doing in Iraq is worth it.

Go ahead and say it is “an all volunteer” country. Yippee to you assholes.

  14. John Feroce says:

    It’s me Mike.

Sacraficed too much to be told I don’t know what I signed up for.

Just had to let it out; No hard feelings here, just my two cents.

  15. donviti says:

    BC,

why is it so offensive? He is a veteran. Salute him.

    happy veterans day for him.

and if anyone reading doesn’t know. I served my 4 years too.

So as a veteran I can post whatever the fuck I want

  16. jason330 says:

    bc –

Crank up the Toby Keith music and have a great day.

  17. donviti says:

    Mike Protack,

Your photo is a sad way to say you disagree with the President.

is at a sad way mike? or is it a sad reminder and something we should stop to think about when we send our veterans to war?

I agreee it is a sad photo.

Quick let me get out the photo of the strapping young man with 2 legs and 2 arms so you can be proud of him.

I wouldn’t want to remind you of the ones that are disfigured for fear of evoking some ill feelings.

  18. jason330 says:

You got it. They support the troops DV, provided you are talking about 2 legged and 2 armed variety.

  19. donviti says:

You two are pure trash and frankly incapable of anything other than foaming at the mouth and demonstrating the worst in humanity.

indeed BC, the worst in humanity. Just b/c you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it isn’t out there. Go hide your eyes. Like I said to Mike Protack hold on a sec while I get out my more patriotic photo of a 2 legged, 2 armed Marine for you to get all warm and fuzzy between the legs.

as your pride swells up like a 13 year old penis and you get all excited at the fact that we are the greatest country in the world.

    get real BC,

  20. jason330 says:

    Dv,

This happens every memorial day, veterans day and 9/11 day. These jerks want to live in a dreamland where our glorious war has no downside. They are mad because you stirred them out of their dream for a minute.

    Pathetic.

  21. donviti says:

    Hey Mike,

Veteran’s Day is not about poltical pettiness

give me about, oh I don’t a few minutes to find some stupid comment about 9/11, terrorism and jihadi’s from Bush…

  22. donviti says:

    J,

it’s funny isn’t it. If I had put up some picture of a marine standing at attention I would have been applauded.

Instead I show a picture of an injured soldier and get out the flame throwers. Shcokingly I set off a nerve.

Forgive me for actually putting something out there that people don’t want to think about.

Gosh, if this was a right wing sight and I had a dead fetus hanging out of a womans vagina and said Abortion is wrong, would anyone be as offended?

there is nothing worse than fake outrage and disgust. Especially coming from people that can’t stop to think that they are just as responsible for this man’s injuries as they would like to say he is.

  23. bc says:

This will undoubtedly just rattle around your empty head and then cause you to simply repeat yourself or try to act like you know anything about me. (For your information I am a staunch detractor of the Bush administration).:

The problem with you, Jason, and many of your posts is that it is all a game to you. You will do anything to further your cause. You posted this unfortunate soldier’s pictures to score political points and THAT is what is disgusting, and then you ignorantly claim that you were trying to memorialize all veterans. That is a flat out lie. This soldier’s pictures should not be used for anyone’s political purposes republican, democrat, libertarian, etc.

I am ashamed that I waste any of my time reading this crap. Good luck with your miserable lives, thinking that the big bad republicans are out to get you and democrats’ are pure as snow.

You know nothing about me but continue to embarrass yourselves by stereotyping anyone who tries to open your eyes to the pure bullshit that you post.

    /one less reader of delawareliberal

  24. donviti says:

    BC,

    I posted it not jason.

I didn’t post it for political points.

I wasn’t trying to memorialize veterans.

    you’ll be back

so if I put up a picture of a “normal” veteran that would have been ok with you?

Had a put up a picture of a normal veteran that wouldn’t have been polictal?

in a society where people make news about Obama not wearing a flag pin?

rattle that in your head for a minute

  25. jason330 says:

    Dv –

By the way. Thanks for your service to the country.

  26. donviti says:

    thanks

    luckily it wasn’t during war.

I only signed up to get college money and earn money for my family.

I’m not alone, no matter what idiots say

  27. Delaware Dem says:

If anything, this picture of one veteran, and the tens of thousands like him who have been horribly maimed and disfigured in this preemptive war of choice should (but won’t) instill within every American the notion that war is horrible and should always, ALWAYS, be the option of last resort, and not the first and preferred choice.

For those here who find this picture disturbing and have condemned DV and Jason, I guarantee you were among the many that cheered on our rush to war in 2002 and 2003 as our first and preferred choice with respect to Iraq.

  28. Brian says:

Read the 100 year war plan from the neo-conservatives, and you are going to have many many more brave young men like him and me.

  29. Dave says:

“For those here who find this picture disturbing and have condemned DV and Jason, I guarantee you were among the many that cheered on our rush to war in 2002 and 2003 as our first and preferred choice with respect to Iraq.”

I didn’t. Don’t think I have ever cheered it. I opposed the war because I didn’t think we could afford it and I didn’t think that we should go fixing other people’s houses when ours was so badly in need of repair.

And that picture is disgusting and I condemn Jason and DV. That guy surely didn’t sign up so his maimed face could be used as some kind of sick manifestation of the cesspool that DV has where his brain should be.

  30. Al Mascitti says:

You don’t get it, Donviti. The picture is despicable for what happened to the man. But your comment beneath it is a different story. What are you saying? That if he believes in what he fought for he deserved this? That’s how it sounds. If that’s wrong, then learn how to get your point across better. Because as it stands, what’s despicable here is your callousness in using what happened to the man to score cheap political points.

  31. Hube says:

bc: You got it, friend. I used to comment here regularly, but the 9/11 “tribute” did it for me. Now this REALLY does it for me. Even so, all I’ve been posting is childish taunts every now and then since Sept. 11 — it’s about all these sub-80 morons seem to appreciate anyways.

    Now. I. Am. Done.

Fuck you and yours, DE Liberal.

  32. Hube says:

Oh, and now your screening comments. Double fuck you.

  33. jason330 says:

I disagree with you Al, but took the caption down. I think there is a lot of horror going unreported. So unreported that one picture with a clearly satiric caption caused a great deal of consternation.

  34. jason330 says:

    Hube

nobody is screening comments. get over yourself.

  35. donviti says:

if I had the picture of that sailor giving a kiss to that dame in times square and said

“this is what he signed up for” would that have been ok Al?

    Al,

My comment is not anything new. It’s what people have said and it is the bullshit arguement that people use for our all volunteer military. So excusfucking me, for using that little slogan with a picture of a young man burnt within an inch of his live.

People on this blog have said that this is what people have signed up for.

That people signed up for this.

    I’m just echoing their sentiments.

Sorry if you don’t like the picture Al.

but facts are facts. People feel that this kid signed up for this. But when they say that it is an all volunteer army, corp, Navy they don’t want to think about that sailor, marine or soldier that got his legs blown off, face peeled or nose carved out

    now do they?
    I know what I did and I

  36. donviti says:

    this isn’t fsp pube

    get your blogs straight

  37. jason330 says:

He is right Al. We hear “they signed up for it” around here.

Now it is off limits I guess.

  38. Hube says:

You’re fucking liars. I posted a longer comment before my other one, asshole. Either you’re lying or you’d better check your fucking spam filter. But I don’t care either way. You’ve already proven yourself to be the biggest sphincters on the fucking planet.

  39. jason330 says:

Take it easy hube. Our arguments only get better when you chime in.

  40. donviti says:

here are few loyal commenters comments:

Kilroy was here Aug 27 2007

“No one forced them to join the military except the own conscious”

give me a minute to find some more

  41. donviti says:

go find a dopey NJ article pube

    or a comic book

    or a cow bell

  42. Al Mascitti says:

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you shouldn’t publish the picture. You most certainly should. But have some compassion for the man. This is where left and right should come together. Whether or not he “signed up” for this, none of us wanted this result. While volunteer soldiers understand the risks — and polls show two-thirds supported the invasion of Iraq — the horrors of modern war are, well, horrible, whether the victims are our soldiers or their civilians. Few individual soldiers have any option but to follow orders and do their jobs, even when it leads to this.

I, for one, wish the administration would put its money for VA care where its mouth is.

  43. Brian says:

Poverty, The desire for a better life, Patriotism, their hope and idealism for our nation, a response to 9-11, all these cause most young people to join the military. Do not denigrate these people please. The flaw is that people in the civilian world have not held congress accountable for their allowance of the administration to overreach its authrrity in every way in this regard and to uphold and remain faithful to their constitutional responsibilities and we have not asked to see the injured and their faces and they have been censored from us on their canned-box propaganda channel Fox News- we the injured and “thrown away” is not an uncommon refrain among homeless vets, and the injured workers who have served others overseas. Trust me and google it.

  44. Von Cracker says:

    DV,

Don’t you know that the chickenshit Right loves to bask in the glory of others?

The man in the photo isn’t a vet in there eyes; it’s not the photo they want to see. It pains them too much to see the consequences of decisions made by the leaders they have chosen to champion.

Some sanctimonious fucks believe you, DV, are being political by showing this photo and I have to agree with them. But I don’t believe it’s wrong of you for doing it, since it’s beyond a reasonable doubt that this war (I mean Iraq) was a war of choice and any war of choice is inherently political.

This poor guy should be a nightmarish reminder to the Hawks of the tragic consequences of unnecessary wars. And a proper reminder every now and then can only be a service to our military, by political means or not.

  45. Von Cracker says:

The question is, Al, why did two-thirds support the Iraq invasion?

Were the people fully informed of the situation just prior to the invasion?

  46. John Feroce says:

chickenshit my ass …whose bee there? me, you fuckin prick…so as @ said before..Fuck you! I never joined for college money douchebag. I joined out of love for country!

  47. Jason,

There is no need for any pictures of any kind on Veterans Day, for or against anything. This day, the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month is a time for honor and rememberance of those who served their country and nothing more.

We should have special memories for those who died and reconfirm our committment to provide for those who have been injured in any way.

It is sad but War and Peace are different things. In peace sons bury their fathers, in war fathers bury their sons.

Happy Veteran’s Day to all who served.

  48. OK…I really can’t see a wannabe State Senator (who, in my opinion, was a better choice than Christian) being so loose with his language. John, is that really you? Dave, can you verify?

  49. Von Cracker says:

Probably not…just some wannabe who’s had a slap of reality to the face and now is lashing out.

  50. No offense by the “wannabe” comment. I realize that doesn’t sound like the most complimentary of modifiers.

  51. r smitty says:

    Mike M:

Hard to tell…I can see why anger would get in those comments from someone with the experiences John had. My sister is an Army vet and I asked her a little bit ago about this post given all of the responses, she was equally animated, yet that’s not her style.

I haven’t spoken to John in some time (and I wish him the absolute best), but there’s another reason beyond language that gives me some doubts if that is him actually commenting.

I kind of hope it is him, though. He has the experience to stand on rebutting this fucked up approach, whereas I don’t.

P.S. to these hacks: I hate Bush, hated him from the get go. My first comment when it was announced in 2000 that Cheney was running as VP: “we’re in big trouble.” I only once voted for a Bush in my life, that being my second ever election in 1988. Hate this war, did so from the start. I understood Afghanistan as did much of the Western world. After that, no way.

  52. John Feroce says:

    It’s me Randy…I’m pissed.

  53. John,

I have to say…I’m liking you more everyday. If only we could get some of that fire in Leg. Hall. Thurman Adams would have keeled over by now had you won last year’s election!

  54. jason330 says:

When I say that I don’t like Republicans I think it is understood that I am really saying. “Other than Smitty and a handfull of other Republicans who knew George Bush was going to be a disaster…”

    Mike P,

As a vet it must eat you up that Bush Co. treats service men and women like a pile of disposable human garbage.

  55. Brian says:

    Thanks Protack…

  56. Dana Garrett says:

“You’re fucking liars. I posted a longer comment before my other one, asshole”

You’re right, Hube. They REMOVED 2 of my comments last night.

  57. Von Cracker says:

Sometimes comments get hung-up for whatever reason. It’s happened to me numerous times.

  58. Dana Garrett says:

“But have some compassion for the man. This is where left and right should come together. Whether or not he “signed up” for this, none of us wanted this result.”

    Al,

You are asking for too much sophistication of the writers from Delaware Liberal. They are not interested in people coming together in compassion to end this horrible war. For them this man is nothing more than a shiv they can stick in the eye of Republicans. This man is little more than an effective counterargument to them, a way to win a debate.

It’s also a way for them to lie as well, to not tell the truth about their own party’s complicity in this man’s tragedy. This picture would have been better represented if it began as a photo of George Bush, morphed into the photo of this man, then morphed into a photo of Hillary, the likely nominee of the Dem Party and someone who has vowed to continue the conflict and keep American troops in harm’s way.

The motto then should have read: We’re All Responsible.

I guarantee you won’t see any photographs like this on DL after Hillary captures the White House and the faces and bodies of our soldiers continue to get maimed and twisted as a result of what binds both of the parties together: the USA’s imperial ambitions. The requirements of the team (the party) will necessitate a new take and packaging of the war. At DL it’s only about winning the argument.

And the deeper truth is that DL is in many ways the creation of the Republicans and “conservatives” w/ all there horseshit about the “L” word and how Democrats are really traitors. DL is the blow back of what the GOP began. That doesn’t excuse the writers of DL, far from it. In fact, they and millions of others like them idiotically behave as if there will be no consequence, no blow back, for their behaving this way. They are wrong. They will discredit themselves just as the Republicans have done now.

It’s a pity. It all means it will take us that much longer to look for more profound alliances and differences among ourselves than the superfluity of party labels to solve our many exigent problems.

  59. Dana Garrett says:

“John, is that really you? Dave, can you verify?”

Mike, I believe it’s him. I’ve talked to him many times. I know something of what he saw. He was dead center in Centcom. I’m suspect he is aware of things no one has ever heard, of unspeakable, horrible tragedies.

If you ever want to see how a war can thoroughly change a person, talk to John Feroce.

I’m getting chills just writing about this.

  60. jason330 says:

They are not interested in people coming together in compassion to end this horrible war.

That’s good. When you find some Republicans that want to come together in compassion to end this war let me know. Things are peachy in Iraq, haven’t you heard? And as much as you want to make this the Democrats war – do you really think it would have happened with Al Gore as President? Okay then.

Yes the Congressional Dems suck. We get it.

As for Hillary Clinton. If she gets the nomination I’ll vote for her. Just like you.

  61. Dave says:

I haven’t talked to John, but that’s him.

  62. As Jason lives in John’s district, I fully expect him to preserve these comments for future use should John decide to run for any office again.

    Just sayin’…

  63. jason330 says:

They endear him to me too. I’m only human.

  64. donviti says:

I guarantee you won’t see any photographs like this on DL after Hillary captures the White House and the faces and bodies of our soldiers continue to get maimed and twisted as a result of what binds both of the parties together:

go fuck yourself Dana. Don’t assume you know shit about me and how I feel about the Clintons.

I was in the Navy under Bill and he was and is still a piece of shit that backs the corporations and fucks the little guy.

    hillary will be no different.

as for the rest of you.

    Fuck you too.

    You can’t handle the truth.

Happy fucking veterans day you fucking hypocrites.

  65. jason330 says:

    DV,

I meant the saltyness was endearing to me – not the sentiment.

Anyway, everyone one will drift back in their slumber and stir again on memorial day when you or I post a picture of a headless child. And anotehr round of faux outrage will ensue…and on and on.

  66. donviti says:

    I hear you jason.

Please forgive me for rushing this post out yesterday. I couldn’t find the video of the legless soldier stepping down his front porch while begging us to finish what we started in Iraq, telling me that the surge is working and because “it’s the right thing to do”

Everyone should take a trip to a VA hospital.

  67. Phantom says:

Can someone please explain the rational of needing the right and left to come together? I mean Bush was going to be a Uniter and not a Divider and look how well that turned out. Given the current methodology of the right wing attack machine there should be no reason to stoop to the level of trying to agree with them. They know they are right (Chris, Hube, etc.) and there is nothing to be done to convince them otherwise, even when they are faced with a picture of the consequences of the party they support. While the democrats are not at all blameless they at least offer an alternative whereas the republicans offer more of the same (oh and 9/11 in case someone in a cave forgot). I see no need to come together to only get stabbed in the back again and again (Et tu Brute). I think it is completely apparent that liberals are able to open thier eyes and see the real consequences of war with this post and picture and actually are discussing the consequences and solutions to stop this tradgedy from continuing with our veterans. I mean Congress has a budget with more money for veterans and the president is going to veto it and the republicans are going to uphold the veto. I am sick of it and believe that the point should not be coming together but rather working to attain enough power where we don’t need them to get in the way any longer.

  68. donviti says:

    John,

I’m so proud of you to join and serve b/c you love your country. Here, here.

If we only needed people to serve for the love of their country, I guess we wouldn’t need the GI bill or signing/re-signing bonuses would we.

I applaud your service, but find it amusing that you are so offended.

turn that anger into something useful for our country.

  69. anon says:

The spam filter has been spastically hyperactive on all the WordPress blogs. They are probably tinkering with the global spam criteria. No need to take offense or sling accusations.

  70. Dana Garrett says:

“When you find some Republicans that want to come together in compassion to end this war let me know.”

You know that most polls indicate now that Repubs want out of Iraq. But you’ll just ignore that fact because like the Dem Congress, you are actually counting on the war dragging out because you believe it will generate better poll results in Nov. 2008. Your cynicism is transparent.

“And as much as you want to make this the Democrats war….”

There you go again w/ your usual misrepresentations. This doesn’t have to be either the GOP’s war or the Dem’s war. That’s your bullshit. They BOTH signed onto it. The Dems in Congress could make the war end quickly if they refused to authorize another dime for it. BUT THEY DON’T. Are they at fault, Jason, for, FAILING TO STOP THE WAR NOW when they can?

Why am I asking you? You never answer that question.

  71. Dana Garrett says:

“go fuck yourself Dana. Don’t assume you know shit about me and how I feel about the Clintons.

I was in the Navy under Bill and he was and is still a piece of shit that backs the corporations and fucks the little guy.

    hillary will be no different.”

Nice fake anger. I’m right. You won’t put up the maimed faces of her presidency.

Here’s I know it is true. The Dems control congress. They could refuse to allow a vote to continue to fund the war. In fact, since they’ve been in power, they could have ended ALL OF IT a few months ago. BUT THEY DIDN’T.

Yet your photo of the maimed face wasn’t directed at them for failing to do the right thing…what they promised. That’s why people are correct in what they have said about you. You didn’t post this man’s face because of any compassion you feel for him but to use him as a hatchet in a purely partisan attack.

You go fuck yourself, you callous son of a bitch.

<i<“Here’s I know it is true. The Dems control congress. They could refuse to allow a vote to continue to fund the war. In fact, since they’ve been in power, they could have ended ALL OF IT a few months ago. BUT THEY DIDN’T.”

    Nice try at deflecting.

Bu$hCo owns the Iraq War, so do the rubber-stampers of the previous Congress.

And who says you can’t be compassionate while being a partisan? It’s like denying the possible existence of a compassionate conservative….

    dumb :-0

    Dana,

you don’t know me, so don’t profess too. I was happily on food stamps and WIC while I was serving my country under Bill.

It was great to root for a 2% pay increase under him. Life was wonderful for me and my fellow sailors under good ol Bill.

My anger is not fake so again fuck you asshole.

My picture was not meant for Dem or GOP. it was meant as a reminder that we are at war and war has consequences. Everyone wants to remember the veteran in a perfectly pressed uniform, but no one NO ONE wants to think about the veteran with his face blown off.

The veteran that when he goes to WALMART will have kids look away in horror.

No one wants to think about what they have done to our servicemen and women,

and here is President Bush, reminding us of 9/11

give me a break, my anger is not fucking fake.

  75. Steve Newton says:

Ok, disclaimer first–21 year veteran NCO and Libertarian not Demopublican (don’t see that much difference between you all)

I’m just wondering what’s coming out of everybody’s anger and angst toward the veterans and the war aside from a lot of posts that question each other’s humanity….

For example, many Delaware National Guard troops have been sent to the Middle East twice, and their families are struggling. How many of you who arguing over the posting of this picture have sought out the relief funds for those families?

How many of you actually have spent the time to work with disabled vets, or to help mentor the children left without fathers or mothers? There are several hundred in our region.

How many of you send books, magazines, or other items to our troops?

I’m not asking for self-justification posts, but for the people to acknowledge that we don’t have to wait for any legislature to treat our own veterans and serving soldiers better.

If your kids go to WALMART and turn away from disabled veterans or anyone who is otherwise less than picture perfect, then that has more to do with your parenting than with anything our idiot politicians have done.

“No one wants to think about what they have done to our servicemen and women….”

If you really believe that (and you appear to), then you are disconnected from thousands of people doing what they can for our disabled vets….

It’s no wonder that the citizens of this state are apathetic about politics if this is the best you all can do with a real issue and real broken people’s lives.

  76. Brian says:

“It’s a pity. It all means it will take us that much longer to look for more profound alliances and differences among ourselves than the superfluity of party labels to solve our many exigent problems.”

    Dana,

I could not agree more, except to say that the problems are not exigent, they are existential. What most people do not realize is how grave the political situation is right now or how much we are about to lose. I am a conservative, but some guy over on the other site keeps calling me a “liberal traitor.” Funny huh? It is not, it is a sad commentary on the lack of political civility that both parties are cultivating to divide us and take away our most fundemental liberties.

I want everyone who reads this post to read your constitution and your declaration of independence. I want you to read it and try as hard as you can to understand it and put all partisan crap aside for a while and make friends with each other for about the next 5 years.

In-fighting, ok, but do not let anyone take a single inaleinable liberty in these documents away from you. And hold on to your hats becuase I have a feeling the shit is about to hit the proverbial fan.

    Me,

you sure got it all figured out. Thanks for visiting. I applaud that you would rather piss in a pot than feed your family. You are a real man. I’m sure you fill those dungarees real well too.

Forgive me if I don’t get all choked up and applaud your patriotism while I stood in line for food stamps.

See why you are all disgusted that someone took food stamps. Perhaps you should be disgusted that an enlisted person qualified for them while serving his country.

    but alas, blame the victim.

Oh I had a cadillac too

and I ate T bone steaks every night

  83. Me says:

    donviti,

you’re a liar… what line did you stand in for the food stamps? you’re a coward who wouldn’t show his face so you no doubt filled out a paper then sat around WHINING while the men were out fighting! as a former enlisted person WHO QUALIFIED for food stamps (what the H*LL does THAT mean LOSER), I am only disgusted that you would USE them … no wonder your wife left you …

now you’re a VICTIM? you’re such a piece of sh*t i can’t find the right words … i bet you’re never wrong … so if you’re so wonderful why the military? you’re a USER and a LOSER … at what point did the military paycheck cease to be sufficient?? remember i had all the allowances a person QUALIFIES for and was SMART ENOUGH to live within my means!

  84. Me says:

oh jason, how MANLY … a little gutteral GRRR … now i’m really impressed… what were your preconceptions? that REAL women like REAL men and that’s why you’re single, typing on the computer all the time? like donviti?

  88. Me says:
