Vaughn
With all the “prayers” going out to him and his family and people like Mike Castle heaping laurels on his head, I just have to share a story about Jim Vaughn.
An African American Deputy was filling in for a superior at a meeting with Vaughn held in Leg. Hall.
Vaughn was a few minutes late. He walked into the meeting room and turned around and walked right back out. A white subordinate chased after Vaughn and said, “is there a problem Senator?”
To which he replied, “I’m not meeting with some nigger.”
It was not in 1950. It wasn’t even ten years ago.
I’ve got two or three whoppers about Vaughn. I’m sworn to secrecy for them, though. Needless to say, I do believe this story. Vaughn is a thug of the highest order.
