Cohenology 101: A Refresher

Filed in National by on September 25, 2007

There are no issues in politics. There are only personalities …and they are not even interesting personalities.

In today’s ponderous snooze fest, Cohen tells us that Michelle Rollins is not running for anything and Levin is still on the fence.

It is hard to imagine anything as lifeless and clumsy as these 522 words from Cohen, except maybe the GOP event that Rollins spoke at. That was probably a killer.

Rather than click on it. I encourage you to use the comment section to come up with some lifeless and clumsy things to compare Cohen’s writing to.

  1. Jason,

The story would have been more efective if Cohen had pointed out a few pertinent facts.

A few short years ago, there were 5 State Representative seats in Brandywine, 4 Rep 1 Dem. Now there are 4 state Represenatative seats and the split is 2 Dems and 2 Rep. The 10th district (home of Brandywine Country Club) has a Republican Rep but in the last it has gone from a large GOP voter advantage to becoming a Democratic advantage.

This seismic shift is the story. Also, Brandywine has not delivered for any statewide GOP candidate in many years.

Personalities are interesting but understanding the bleed off in Brandywine is critical for the GOP. Recruiting ‘personalities’ from a a bygone era depsite their own individual successes is not going to change the tide of GOP losses.

    Have a great day.

As lifeless and clumsy as a Britney Spears MTV music awards performance.

I love Celia’s understated unintentional wit:

“In addition to lieutenant governor, the Republicans have other statewide openings…”
