Give me some of that Ole’ September 11th magic!!

Filed in National by on August 24, 2007

In an effort to squeeze just a few more drops of juice out of the 9/11 tragedy, George Bush is having Genn. David Patreaus deliver the White House report on Iraq to Congress on that day.

Ironically, George Bush was the President during the attack and his incompetence allowed the attack to take place, but he still feels he can get a “bounce” from reminding people about his abject failure.

Scientists evaluating this stunt estimate that it will take an industrial press that can exert over 5 million pounds of pressure per square inch for Bush to get more juice out of avoidable the deaths of over 3,000 Americans.

  1. Chris says:

Do we have to go through this again? 9/11 was planned originally to go off in August 2000. Most of the research and planning took place during the Clinton watch. If the planners hadn’t wanted to research it so thoroughly, it would have happened under Clinton and you we be screaming that it was totally unpreventable. So shove your crap back into your mouth. You know not of what you speak. And it makes you look foolish once again.

  2. Von Cracker says:

    The Clenis has risen!

Chrissy’s spacious argument only proves that it is he who’s the fool.

  3. miles north says:

LOL! Bush was too busy planning for invading Iraq, so he couldn’t be bothered to follow up on the CIA warnings, “Bin Laden Determined To Strike In The US” in August 2001.

I don’t think Clinton (or any pres other than Bush) would have ignored such a warning.

  4. Von Cracker says:

But to the point of the post…doesn’t Congress set its own schedule? Or was it a compromise between the WH, Congress, and the Military to hold the hearing on 9/11 because of scheduling?

Either way, a majority of uninformed Americans will think that this is a sick, propaganda ploy by the Bush cabal…..

  5. Dave says:

    Chris! Crackie complemented you!

I think your argument was spAcious, too.

    And Crackie’s calling people fools…

  6. miles north says:

Hey, if Bush wants to talk about 9/11, let him trot out some general to tell us how things are going in Afghanistan, and how goes the hunt for Osama.

  7. Bushie throws his generals undre the bus if they refuse to accept his rosey view – General PAce has a lot to say about that today.

He says get the hell out.

  8. Von Cracker says:

I must really get to you, Dave…under your skin, so to speak, if all you got are taunts. šŸ˜‰

  9. miles north says:

Two can play the propaganda game. I think Dem leadership should demand testimony on Afghanistan and OBL every 9/11.

  10. Dave says:

I have a soft spot for people who call other people fools while using bad grammar or spelling.

  11. donviti says:

uh, oh, he attacked your grammar Von

man, you shouldn’t have done that.

  12. Phantom says:

    Hmm,

Well I guess that VC must have a soft spot for idiots who use bad logic and weak arguments. The argument that Chris proposed only justifies that under Clinton the attack was unable to proceed forward but under Bush the rules became more relaxed thereby allowing for 9/11. Thanks for that argument Chris. Really well thought out.
So can you explain the following to me:
9/11 was planned originally to go off in August 2000
    then
If the planners hadnā€™t wanted to research it so thoroughly, it would have happened under Clinton

If Bush took office in Jan of 2000 how could August of 2000 still be the Clinton administration? Oh, I know, blame Clinton for everything mantra. Once again the superior logic of a republican.

  13. Von Cracker says:

He’s drowning, and he knows it. Quite sad to witness. Wait! Thatā€™s one finger….two fingers….Dave?, DAVE!?!?!?!

And that “soft spot” must be between his ears! šŸ™‚

…you made me go there, Ming!

  14. Dorian Gray says:

Wow. You misspelled specious. Holy shit! I think the point is that delivering the report on 11 September 2007 is a Rovian ploy, bottom line.

Maybe the original attacks were planned for August 2000, or July 1996, or during the Reagan administration. The fact is they were executed on 9/11/01. So to use the date for political purposes is very sleazy.

I really don’t hate W, truly I don’t. But he’s is clearly inept and possibly the worse POTUS ever Grant, Polk, Bush… it’s real close. To defend him at this point an evoke the Clinton epithet is down right ignorant.

    Ok I lied… I hate W… call the CIA.

  15. liberalgeek says:

At the risk of defending Chris, Bush was appointed in Dec 2000 and took office in Jan 2001. Either way, Bush’s lack of interest in bin Laden did lead directly to September 11. Clinton had meetings bi-weekly about AQ and recommende Bush do the same. Just like Chris, Bush considered anything that Clinton says as false. 3000 Americans paid the price for that hubris.

  16. Kilroy Was Here says:

“Ironically, George Bush was the President during the attack and his incompetence allowed the attack to take place, but he still feels he can get a ā€œbounceā€ from reminding people about his abject failure.”

There should be a rule about Bloggers on “crack”
Bush wasn’t President when the World Trade Center was “bombed” in 1993. Clinton failed to Capture or kill Bin Laden. Dipshit Clinton waited until after Bin Laden bombed the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania August 7, 1998 to send 6 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles into Afghanistan. Clinton missed his target and set the stage for the bombing of the USS Cole October 14, 2000. Gee Jason, did George Bush take office 3 months later is. January You Iā€™ll admit my grammar sucks as much as George Bushā€™s ability to manage a war however, you need to admit Clinton is the cluster-fuck who failed to protect the United States. When our embassies were being blown up, Clinton was getting blow jobs from Monica

  17. jason330 says:

    *sigh*

There you have it folks. 9/11 was all the Clenis fault.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of keeping your worldview pristine Kilroy.

  18. Von Cracker says:

    Clinton! WHAAAA! Clinton WHHHAAAA!!!

Why isn’t Osama caught and dead by now, Kilroy! At least Clinton made honest attempts..all Bush did was outsource the mission, paying warlords with our tax dollars, to do nothing but keep the Boogey-man alive!

  19. Kilroy Was Here says:

“Why isnā€™t Osama caught and dead by now, Kilroy! At least Clinton made honest attempts..”

Because the pussy-ass Pakistanis are covering his ass ! Do remember his loser families are all in Pakistan being protected. Donā€™t get me wrong, Bush has screwed up this so-call war and we need to get the hell out.

Jason, your dam good, every time the truth is being told about Jack Markell you switch into Bush mode. After Bush leaves office are you going to turn your blog into Jasonā€™s Delaware Susie Homemaker? What about your girl Ruth Ann Bush , Jack Markellā€™s mentor!

  20. Kilroy Was Here says:

“let the facts” you base you view on a bogus letter. Have you every held an offical communication.

  22. Hank Gathers says:

FYI Congress set’s the date and time for meetings not the WH. So we set the date.

  23. Dave says:

“Heā€™s drowning, and he knows it. Quite sad to witness. Wait! Thatā€™s one fingerā€¦.two fingersā€¦.Dave?, DAVE!?!?!?!”

    That’s quite a spacious argument.

  24. Von Cracker says:

I have a feeling you don’t know what those words mean, Dave.
