Hube & Felix, Check this out!

Hey guys,

I know you are all upset about Democrats not showing up to debate on FOX NEWS – so I know you are just as pissed off about Mike Castle hiding under his desk when average Americans who happen to think he should STOP supporting George Bush show up at his office….right?

He should certainly answer his critics all sorts of things. However, showing up and expecting to get a meeting with him right that minute isn’t realistic or fair.

    HOLY CRAP!!
Jason, I didn’t know you were there! That’s me in the blue shirt! This was the whole meeting I wrote about!

  3. oedipa maas says:

Seems about as realistic and fair as waiting (in vain) on some random phone call to participate in a “Town Meeting”.

    Re: Duffy…

We went in with the hopes of having a meeting, but realizing how unrealistic that was (as if Castle wants to speak to pacifistic liberals!), we also hoped to schedule a meeting with him in the future, sort of a plan B. I hardly see it as being unfair, since we are all his bosses (myself possibly excluded, not being of age to vote) and the least he can do is talk to us.

What I found disturbing was that security went all DEFCON-5 on us.

  5. Hube says:

Missing the point yet again, Jase? Of course you are!

Still, I think ANY public official should be willing to answer constituent questions at any time. Unless they’re borderline stalkers, like you, Jase.

Mat – In order to be fair, show up unannounced at Joe Biden’s office tomorrow and let me know what time the meeting you two agree upon is. I’ll buy the pizza.

Take the challenge – you have 24 hours from now, ah fuck it, I’ll give you til Thurs at midnight.

OK…………..his Wilmington office, as is Tom Carper’s, is located in a ID Card, guard-stationed building. Why? Well, probably because of the other tenants in the building as well. Funny thing is, you storm a building with this security…well, you ain’t getting through! Look at what happened to Rep McKinney…oh wait, FORMER Rep McKinney when she tried to storm into Congress because she was late. That coffee shop in there? You can’t even go there without an ID card or being signed in. This is opportunistic bullshit at its best.

For what it’s worth, I am sorry I missed this, I would have come over from the other building to watch…and get a cup of coffee.

  8. Mat Marshall says:

    J:

In order to be fair, there are several things that need to be said with regards to your challenge:

First of all, Mike Castle isn’t running for POTUS.

Second of all, we had tried to set up meetings in the not-so-distant past.

Third of all, AAEI is an actual group representing the opinion of quite a big chunk of the American people. I am a 16-year-old hippie.

Fourth of all, the question of fairness did not lie in whether or not it was fair to expect to be given a meeting that day (especially considering we had gone in expecting to be shot down, several times). The thing I found unfair was that he was — and still is — flat-out avoiding us.

  9. J says:

Mat – ok…let’s revisit when Biden isn’t running for POTUS.

If you caught the most recent debate, Biden was the only one (maybe with an exception to Clinton), who said it would take a year and a half to even begin getting a majority of forces back.

So in late February (after he gets his ass kicked) let’s go to his office and see what’s going on.

  10. Mat Marshall says:

Considering my other three points, no.
