Wind power creates electricty and tourism

Filed in National by on April 30, 2007

New in-depth research from Scotland performed in a highly scenic area with a high density of wind farms indicates that tourists are much more likely to be attracted than put off by the knowledge that there are wind turbines in the area. Around the turn of the last century factories were a source of civic pride. A smoke stack billowing out black smoke was a sign of “progress” and a community that was on the move.

Delaware can make the wind turbine the analogous symbol for our own period of prosperity through forward thinking.

We didn’t get enough Wind Riders to justify sending a bus to Dover on Wednesday, so we’re all going to drive down. Anybody who can offer a ride to a UD student, please contact me at young.rh@comcast.net or 302-234-3364. See you at Leg Hall on Wednesday.

Also, we are still collecting letters supporting Wind Power to Governor Minner and State Reps and State Senators for delivery tomorrow in Dover.

There’s a Clean Elections Coalition meeting tonight at Westminster Presbyterian Church (corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and N. Rodney St) at 7:00 and you can bring your letters there for delivery tomorrow.
