It’s Official: Castle’s Office Stonewalling Calls to Explain his Vote Against the Troops

Filed in National by on April 26, 2007

UPDATE IV: I just called and told Hugh about the faulty link. I gave him my fax number an email address, but from the tone of his voice I’d say I have about a 50/50 shot at having that statement sent to me.

UPDATE III: Castle’s Office now claims to have released a statement on his vote against the troops, but when you click on the link at the web site says: “You are not authorized to view this resource. You need to login.” I think the link to nowhere is a ruse to buy time and get Celia Cohen to roll out one of her “Odes to Castle” in advance of my review of the statement.

UPDATE II: STONEWALL WATCH HOUR 3

Still no word from Castle, Wenk or Hoffman

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff7VW14sM3E]

As of 12:41pm Michael Castle has begun an official campaign to stonewall questions about his vote against fully funding and training the troops and in favor of Bush’s open ended war.

I have left messages with Kaitlin Hoffman and Elizabeth Wenk politely asking for a statement from the Congressman.

According to staff, Castle has no statement and is not planning a press conference to explain his vote which is being regarded by many as an affront to his constituents and to common sense.

Michael Castle owes his constituents an explanation for this vote. Therefor I will continue to update this post and highlight our Congressman’s attempts to deprive Delawareans of what went into his decision to stand, once again, with George Bush.

If you feel that Castle owes you an explanation for the vote please call his office and report back any relevant information you gather.

UPDATE: The U.S. Senate has voted to approve a war funding bill that includes an Iraq troop withdrawal timetable. Biden and Carper vote to support the troops, but Michael Castle’s loyalty to Bush is stronger than his loyalty to Delaware.

Thank Joe Biden for supporting the troops and setting a timeline to pull out of Iraq by calling his Wilmington Offiice:  302-573-6345

Thank Tom Carper for supporting the troops and setting a timeline to pull out of Iraq by calling his Wilmington Offiice: : 302-573-6291

    This does not add up. Castle is and always has been a worried little vote counting politician. I don’t understand why he would risk his political future by tying himself so closely to failed an unpopular President.

    It could be the stroke I guess. Or maybe he knows he is not running again. Regardless, my contempt for him is boundless.
