Vilsack quits the race

Filed in Uncategorized by on February 24, 2007

Looks like the first one to drop out of the 2008 race is Tom Vilsack.  The word on the street is that his first quarter fund raising was on pace for 1.3 Million.  This is about what Obama raised in one evening…  Hillary makes that much in interest each month.

OK, let’s place bets on who’s next.  My vote is Kucinich.  I wonder if Delaware Park will consider Presidential politics a sport?  That’s some gambling legislation I could get behind.

As a soon-to-be-former Ohioan, I can categorically say that Kucinich will not drop out until just before the convention, just like last time around. He knows he has no chance at the nomination – that’s not his point.

It’ll be Richardson or Biden next.

Interesting that the first to announce his candidacy is the first to quit.

    Vilsack is a Republican-light DLC’er. Good riddance.

Vilsack dropped out because he was getting embarrassed in his home state, plain and simple. He couldn’t take the fact that he had previously won with ~ 70% of the votes, but now his state was telling him he wasn’t good enough for President. It was not about money.

And here I was concerned the prevailing attitude of this blog would change. Naive me!

I think he dropped because so many were pointing out that his name sounds like ballsack.
