Markell might have missed his best chance. He would have destroyed Castle in ’06.
Karen Hartley-Nagle is running again and she is going to actually get party support from DEMs this time around.
She is working hard on several issues now, including taking the lead on Clean Air. What has good old Spivak done since he went screaming into the darkness last November? He has someone writing a kavips blog….
For me the issue with Karen Hartley-Nagle is not “Will the party support her?” It is, “Will she support the Democratic Nominee is she loses?”
She lost a lot of credibility for me when she took the low road last time and decided to comfort Mike Castle instead of helping get rid of him.
She could recoup some of my good will if she made a vow to accept the will of the primary voters.
On the merits alone, I would cross the party line and vote for Markell over Castle, but I will hold my nose and vote for Castle lest the Dems hold all three seats and the governor’s mansion. Now, if there was a chance of booting Crapper…
You know, Jason’s original complaint about Castle was that he is a “cog in a Republican machine.”
Well, times have changed.
Now, Castle is no longer contributing to a Republican majority, he has a 100% Democratic voting record so far, and he is serving as a focal point for the continuing implosion of the Delaware GOP.
I’m really starting to like Castle.
Wow. Castle is getting his ass kicked by Burris and “Other Republican”.
Doctor, it’s called sending Castle a message (in a totally non-binding way, of course) and sure to be utterly ineffective.
You never know. Could this be a Burris trial balloon?

Anon is correct, Markell would have won in 2006.
I think Mr.Castle is safe unless his heart beat gets irregular. Any questions about his health and look out.
